Hey everyone,

I'm trying to switch my Kubota M8560 to row crop tires — the thinner ones for better maneuvering between rows. My current tires are:

  • Back: 16.9-24 R1
  • Front: 9.5-22

I didn’t get much help from the dealer, so I'm hoping some M60 series owners can pitch in with the correct row crop tire sizes. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

The front-to-rear axle ratio on the M8560 is 1.405, unlike the 7060 and 6060. The M5-091 has the same hub dimensions and axle ratio as the 8560. You can Build a tractor on kubotausa.com to see their tire options for an M5-091, but it looks to me like you have the narrowest Kubota offers. Some have larger wheels and look narrower, but I think it's only because they're taller.

Thank you. I am fine with regular tires and thin tires is just a want, you might be right. I want the taller tires for clearance as my tractor touching the plants strawberry plants right now.

There are also some options for narrower tires for the M5-091N narrow model, but I'd check the rolling circumference, since I'm not sure that model's axle ratio is the same.

Where is the official info for the ratio? I am unable to find over the internet.

I think @eserv was the original poster of this data.

These are the 2 stock options for the taller tires

Rear 16.9-34

Front 12.4R-24

Thank you.
Found a used ones from a private seller with rims, 16.9-R34 back and 13.6-24 front. I am really anxious what if they mess up with MFWD mechanism if not of the proper ratio? Where can I really confirm or double check? I will be peaceful if someone using this combination. I also found that these tires used on JohnDeere, is that okay? Do they interchange?

The fronts are not the right size, 12.4-24 is what you need.
The 13.6-24 might work, but would need RC of both tires to know for sure.

Can you measure them before you buy? You can measure the circumference of both tires at the largest point, divide the rear by the front, that should be maybe 5% less than your table ratio.

Also check the bolt # and circle, and hub hole size on the wheels.

You nailed it actually, One of the dealer responded just now and gave me the numbers.
Rear 16.9-34
Front 12.4-24

My question is , will it make difference if I use 13.6-24 in front, a 3rd party is selling it.

Yes you could very easily damage the front gears.

Tractors are not like cars and trucks. You can go inch taller tires on a car all the way around and you just slightly change an odometer/gearing. A tractor usually has very different tire circumferences. Its not an easy call to change one end or the other. A calculator is real key....Good luck and try it out in dirt first!

I couldn't tell you anything about those rims specifically.
If all the holes are the right size I would think you'll be fine.
