Who is Ken’s Bolt-On Hooks, BoltOnHooks LLC / KBOH-USA™ , and boltonhooks.com?

Ken, the founder and owner, AKA “kennyd” or “kennyd4110” in many popular online forums about tractors, hobby machining, welding, woodworking, motorcycles, diesel trucks, and a few others along the way started KBOH in early 2011 after a casual comment made on a popular tractor forum (TBN) by a gentleman named George, he wrote “I wish someone made bolt on chain grab hooks like that” referring to the large “tow hooks” available. That comment was made on 11-26-2008 and stuck with me. After a lot of experimenting, consulting with engineers, prototyping, testing and even learning how to make a very simple web page KBOH was born. As the business and product line grew, we went official and formed BoltOnHooks LLC in early 2013, and now it’s a true family affair with my wife and three children always pitching in to help out.
You will find we are very active on all the major forums and a few FaceBook groups, helping out when we can with technical and general operating advice. What other vendor does that?

How best to reach us:
The best way is via email at info@boltonhooks.com. If you need or want to talk to us directly, we will be happy to provide a phone number via return email. We are a very small company so we cannot answer calls all day and get orders out in a reasonable time. Please also note that we have an extensive Frequently Asked Questions page, 75% of the questions we regularly answer are detailed there already.
Normal business hours for us:
Monday through Friday 8a – 5p
Saturday 8a – 12p
(Eastern time zone)

Where are you located?
We are located in the Westminster, Maryland (21158) area, and we always enjoy having customers stop by to pick up orders or even just to have a chat. Please email us for convenient times.

Kubota Specific:
About a year after opening, we saw the need for a specific style of hooks for Kubota tractors. At the time, the now popular SSQA (Quick Attach) buckets were not at all popular on compact tractors, and the Kubota pinned-on buckets had a upturned lip that made our regular Bolt-On Hooks unusable. So with a few loyal customers that were willing to help with testing, we developed the hooks with a welded spacer or 'riser' to get the hook above that lip. After visiting many different dealers over a few months, we came up with six different sized spacers to cover all the various buckets Kubota has.
Now with the popularity of the SSQA buckets, we have adapted all of our Bolt-On Hooks to be used on those too, and show every current style on the website with pictures and detailed descriptions of what we recommend for each.

Staying with the times!
In 2020, during the height of the CV19 fiasco and worldwide upheaval, we took on the challenge of trying to get more of our products made here in the USA so as not to rely on overseas manufacturing. We contracted with a forging company in Pennsylvania, and purchased the dies for our weldable grab hooks in 5/16" and 3/8" sizes. This was a huge financial commitment and gamble for our small business, but we felt it was the correct move for our business and customers. So, now we have the ONLY grade #70 weldable grab hooks forged here in the United States! You can see the forging process in this Video on our YouTube channel.

These days you will find MANY copies of our original Bolt-On Hooks all over Amazon and eBay, but rest assured they are all cheap inferior copies of our design. All of them have a larger footprint, and are fabricated overseas using materials of questionable quality. You paid a premium for your fantastic Kubota machine, please don't accessorize it with the cheapest parts you can find on Amazon!

Under Pressure:
We have expanded our line of some specialty hydraulic components, including many custom in-house made flow restrictors that are not available anywhere else. We also have several options for pressure testing gauges to make sure your machine is operating to factory specifications.

Excellent product Ken. I have a set of your bolt on hooks on the L2501 standard bucket.
These hooks have been used pulling T posts with a chain, as well as skidding logs out
of the woods. Well worth the money.

While being aware of the other online offerings, I always promote and endorse your business. There is much more to value than a low price. I will always endorse an American business, providing excellent, professional, personal service and a highly valued product.
