HELP, PLEASE!
I have a 2009 BX2660 with a total of 165 hours on the clock and it has developed a nasty habit of blowing a particular fuse (15 amp fuse #3 in the fuse block which is labeled "ACC") whenever I turn on the headlights. This all started after I installed a digital voltage/amp meter connected directly to the battery, no wires were tapped, spliced or cut. Since this was the only modification I made, I disconnected the meter thinking this would resolve the fuse blowing issue. But it didin't.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm not very good with electrical problems so any advise on how to go about testing wires/circuits would be welcomed and appreciated.

Thank You!

Which DVM/DAM did you install ? The ones I bought measure current in the ground return NOT the 'hot' side so I'd like to see how yours installs.
Will need to find the wiring diagram to see what else other than headlights is on that fuse. 15 amp is a lot for 'just' headlights ! At most, maybe 5 amps for 2 '1157' power lamps.

OK, found possible wiring diagram... and the headlight switch also powers the taillights when 'on' as well as a dash light I suspect a short in the wiring,so carefully inspect

Some people have used a light in place of the fuse when checking for shorts in wiring.

Idea is the light gives a visual indication of when there is a short. And you save money on fuses as well.

This may work for you. You could probably use a blown fuse, and solder a couple wires on the ends, and use the wires to power a light. The light itself limits current, so if you have a direct short, it will not pass enough current to damage your wiring,

If the light lights, you can wiggle/move wires and watch for a change. If the light does not light, you can wiggle/move wires and watch for the light to light.

This makes it, in some cases. a much easier task when trying to find a short in one's wiring, than it would be using a meter. Especially if you are working alone.

Perhaps this idea could be of some use in your case...

Good suggestion Henro but you overlooked "disconnecting dash, head and tail lights" while testing for short in wires. If that doesn't reveal a short it's possible short is in light fixture or bulb socket so post back for ways to test them.

remove fuse powering the lights
remove all light bulbs
measure continuity ( ohms) between 'hot ' and 'gnd' of one lightbulb socket

if it reads ZERO, hot and gnd ARE shorted together.
