Hello all;
I have searched and can not find the answer, so I would appreciate any help.

L3240 with R 4 tires

I would like to have my valve stems to outside of rear tires instead on inside where it is extremely difficult to access. I am 75 and can not do the contortions necessary to add air very easily.

Is is possible to do this ?
How difficult is it ?

Thanks

Perhaps you could drill a hole on the outside and add an additional valve stem. Usually the valve stems have some protection so welding a section of pipe around the added stem might be a good idea.

Drilling a new hole for a new valve stem and any welding of a protective shield would require removal of the tire from the wheel.

Even at the age you mention it would be much easier to get the proper air in the tire with the wheel mounted just as it is. Perhaps someone around to help you get the valve stem in the proper location to add air? How often do you really need to add air or even check pressures?

I have a L3310 and the valve stems are on the inside, just like yours. After looking at the rims it appears the rims can be switched from side to side which will place the valve stems on the outside, which I prefer. Your rims are most likely the same as mine.
I will have the switch done when I get the tires loaded with ballast.

Look at the rims very close, a lot of times, reversing the rims will change the off set rather drastically.
On mine reversing the rims added 12" of width so for my purpose it's excellent, but for others it make the tractors rear wheels wider than the bucket, blade, or snow blower.

Same for me. Reversing added a full 12" of width (which is what I was after) AND put the valve stems outboard.

Actually I have ag tires on my tractor so if I just want the valve stems on the outside all I will need to do is swap them, side for side. I do want a wider track so I will be changing their position on the rims. Widening the track will make me feel safer on the land I have to travel/work. That and loading the tires with fluid.

My rims have tabs that actually allow for 3-4 different width changes. The largest (by just swapping sides) giving me 12" of extra width. Stability greatly increased.
