How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

THE REAL SOLUTION So, the tilted seat with the tilt-limiting cable worked great for a prolonged chipping session. But it still bothered me that I had to use a kludge to accomplish it. I did however notice the when the seat is released and sprung up in order to rotate it backwards for backhoe...

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

YES… now that it seems to be working with the seat-tilt-limiting cable (wire rope) I also am not fast enough to easily get off and do the tilt in time. Getting off first is probably what I’ll do, as you suggested.

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

I just got hit with a sudden rain shower. But I added a (temporary?) steel cable to prevent the seat from resting on the steering wheel, which gives the seat enough leverage to keep the seat switch barely squished down enough. Not sure if actual use will have too much vibration to keep it squished.

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

The WSM I have (pdf) speaks about a seat tilt switch. My B2601HST doesn’t have one. I wonder if it’s because it’s outfitted with the rotating seat for use when the BH70 backhoe is attached. Here are the photos from the WSM.

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

After testing, still no success, but I have a clue. With the key on, brake locked, and rear PTO selected and PTO clutch lever in engaged position, but engine not running, I can hear a kill/run valve or relay respond to manually operating the seat switch. Pushing down on the seat switch (as if...

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

My PDF manual is different from the B2301B2601 shown above. It seems to be specifically for the B2601HSD. Here is what it says: Stationary PTO To park the tractor and use the PTO system (for chipper or pump, for example), start the PTO system in the following steps. 1. Apply the parking...

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

Thanks, however I’ve also tried that too. Tried that first actually, I had read that as a method for someone with a different model. I think I’ll crawl under today and look for a switch on the parking brake lock lever..

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

and to @NCL4701 I -have- been setting the parking brake. Which I’m fairly compulsive about doing anyway. Maybe there is a switch on the parking brake lever that isn’t sensing that it’s set. I’ll look for that! Thank you.

How to maintain rear PTO when not in the seat, B2601HSD?

I purchased a BX42S 3-point PTO chipper to use with my B2601HSD tractor. I just used it and it works great, but I can’t figure out how to keep the engine running when I get out of the tractor seat. I have searched for advice and done things in suggested order, but no luck. Including flipping the...
