    M4000 Head Gasket

It did look like it had been replaced at some point in the past, so my best guess is either an aftermarket gasket (like mentioned before) or improper installation, we did have to clean off what looked like RTV where the gasket was stuck to the head. He's owned it for 3 years now, so it held up...

    M4000 Head Gasket

Got it all done today, running good again. It was a very obvious head gasket failure between the 3rd and 4th cylinders, it had disintegrated right out to the coolant port. It needs an oil change, but we moved a few round bales with it to bring it up to operating temp, everything seems to be...

    M4000 Head Gasket

New old stock off eBay. Part# 07916-24440, complete gasket set. Supposed to be OEM, has Kubota on the packaging.

    M4000 Head Gasket

Thanks. The kit I bought has both the shim and gasket, I'll only replace what comes out though.

    M4000 Head Gasket

I got a gasket and shim ordered. Does anyone know the torque pattern and spec for the head bolts?

    M4000 Head Gasket

Anyone have any idea where to order a head gasket for an M4000? The tractor is burning coolant and overheating, so I want to pull the head off it soon, but want to have a new gasket ready to go (I'm hoping it's the gasket causing the problems). Can't seem to find one online though, anyone have...

    B7100 Snow Plow Plumbing

Drilling a few holes shouldn't be a problem, just as long as the frame actually fits. I'm thinking I need to take my tractor with me when I go to pick it up, so I can actually double check everything and swap any parts if needed.

    B7100 Snow Plow Plumbing

After finding some images that seems like the best idea. My block doesn't appear to be tapped except for one small plug on the front side, the ones I see online have two big ports tapped into the top.

    B7100 Snow Plow Plumbing

I have a chance to pick up a plow and sub frame for a decent price not too far away. The hoses apparently need to be replaced, but it should bolt right up. How are the controls plumbed into it, do I need to make sure my tractor has anything special, or is there a spot on the factory pump for...

Anyone have experience with the M4000?

Thanks guys, it makes sense like that. We got it home on Saturday and I went up there and put it through it's paces. What a fantastic little tractor. The 6 cylinder is so much smoother than the 4 cylinder Ford he had. It makes awesome power, and the gearing versatility with the high/low and...

    B7100 FEL plans?

Does anyone know if FEL plans exist anywhere for a homebuilt FEL? And is it feasible? My B7100 is the old gear drive, and I have less than $2500 into the whole tractor at this point (not including implements). It is a great little work horse, but I really could use a small FEL for it. I can...

    B7100D (1981) Xmission growl, 2nd gear

I called a few salvage places looking for that gear, and two people told me it was one of the most popular pieces they sell. Although these little tractors are tough as nails, that particular gear is a bit of a design flaw. It's just a lot of stress on it in nearly every type of work, plus 2nd...

    B7100D (1981) Xmission growl, 2nd gear

I gather it's growling in reverse also? Or at least beginning to whine. I have done this fix, and quite frankly, it sucks. The problem on mine was a plain worn out gear, the gear that runs 2nd also meshes with the PTO shaft and reverse, it gets a lot of work, especially if it's used mowing...

    Starting issue

Is the battery fully charged? If it is high hours the starter could be worn to the point where it just won't spin it fast enough to kick it over. If it has a decomp valve try using that, get it spinning, then let go of the valve to see if it will fire.

Anyone have experience with the M4000?

It was showing 2000 hours, pretty clean for it's age. I was curious about the PTO clutch, that's kind of an interesting feature. I found the manual for it, and it's a bit confusing. It is showing that the down position is Engaged, and the up and locked position is Disengaged, it then says to...
