    Rewiring a L345DT

Nice project ! Agreed, grounding enables everything - nothing works without it. My first Kubota was an L345DT bought new in 1982. I eventually traded it up to an L4150 - but missed the handy size of the L345 - so got another one as a 2nd machine. I have stayed with Kubota since, upgrading...

    Rewiring a L345DT

The major load on that circuit is the glow plug circuit that the big black switch turns on when turned to the left. If it opens the new 40A breaker, check the glow plug wiring. On the posted circuit diagram the GP's should be in the upper right corner - (clipped off on my screen).

    Rewiring a L345DT

Sorry I'm late to this thread - my L345 has an enclosed in-line fuse in that location. It protects the starter/solenoid wiring. I found the original burned out one day and all I had were 30A fuses - which work a few times but eventually burn out. Needs a 40A fuse there. Your proposed 40A...

    L3350 power issue

About this L3350 that loses tractive wheel power under load, my L5450 has a similar hydraulic shuttle - so my WSM gets into it somewhat. Your actual L3350 WSM would be easier to follow. (on the L5450 the shuttle clutch system was made larger and renamed the Ever Clutch). I had been...

    L2950 broken axle case

Getting good strength in a cast iron part by welding is very tough to get right - and because of heat-induced weakening of the iron's crystal structure there's only one chance to succeed. I'd go for a re-design instead where a bolted block is added the casting by machining a new flat surface in...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Added info to post #20 above about possibly getting at the engine bolts by lifting the dash. No ju-ju - just wrenches ;)

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

To get back to the leaking shaft, the issue stems from when Kubota moved the front wheel driveshaft so it runs inside the housings instead of outside in a tube routed through recesses. They discovered pretty soon that the seals they used on the shaft were not tight enough fitting around the...

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

What a great idea ! It might be possible to raise it that way and then hang it from the ceiling (if the loader has to come off too) Always nice to see the abundance of "clever" here  I put a boom on my loader to set barn roof trusses (41 years ago now - geesh ! )

    Removing Cab from a Grand L 40

Not sure which models allow it but the cab may be able to stay in place and access the clutch, etc. - I've seen pictures of cab tractors split for trans/clutch work - the cab bolts were taken out and the cab was lifted slightly with a small jack and blocked in place. The WSM's all show how to...

    (L4150-DT) 3-point hydraulic failure

The L3 models of that time have an "easy checker" in the dash that indicates when the hydraulic oil filter is clogged (or nearly so). I'm assuming your L4150 and my L5450 have similar parts - although the main pump on the L5450 is mounted in front of the engine There should be a vacuum switch...

    HST Filter Removal

HST filters are pretty robust but they are usually not crazy tight. I've used a drift (like a blunt punch or heavy screwdriver) and a hammer on the ring lugs on the inner end of the filter, accessing a tangential shot from below or the side to turn it counterclockwise. Don't go full rhino at...

    Pressure reading

I've been a little lax lately in following L5450 questions. Here's a page from the WSM. The relief setting is around 2600-2700 psi. If your pump is still above 2000 its still capable of doing a lot of work.

I'm a old dummy who jumped my tractor off and put pos on neg, Problems!

Yes now with everything having a hair trigger before a fiery death, a long-burn fuse would just increase the repair bill. Good comment.

I'm a old dummy who jumped my tractor off and put pos on neg, Problems!

OK, here comes another old dummy with 2 cents. Long ago Kubota started putting a special "fusible link" in the system precisely to protect the "intelli-panel" from damage caused by connecting a battery (or jumper cables) backward. It was a loop of high-resistance wire that just plugged into a...

    Engine replacement on L47

And to get the engine away from the loader and transmission, the front and rear frames have to go - Look for the TL1300 loader in the factory parts list.
