I ended up using a replacement cap for a fuel oil tank. I maybe needed one fitting for adapting it, but everything was available at the local hardware store.
I've gone through about 5 of these shift boots in 7 years. They keep tearing on me. I wish I could find a better alternative. They cost about $8 a piece. Any ideas?

I have a 4 ft king kutter xb tiller. The oil seal on the side gear box next to the tiller shaft has started leaking. Does anyone have any experience replacing this or have any suggestions.
I don't want to tear into it and then end up with more problems.
You will want a cab if you're planning on pulling a discbine. Plus you need about 100hp to really do it right.

You are right on the money and I've been saying this for a while. I have a b6001 and while some of the parts are the same as a b6100, many are not. In fact I've ended up using a lot of b6000 parts on mine. Sorry about your frustration, but that misinformation seems to be a common place in...
Old thread, but some of the parts on my b6001 (i.e. rear axle bearings) were the same as the b6000 on mine not a b6100. I guess sometimes it is just trial and error.
On my b6001 I had to go from the inside out. Had to take it all apart, replace the bearings and the seals. I think your b7100 parts diagram will show it that way as well. If you find an easier way let me know.
