    D722 to D902 engine swap?

I know they're both part of the "super mini series", but wasn't sure how much that affected swapping. I'm very suspect of the engine myself- still trying to gather information on it at this time. I have seen several used 902's since I bought this, but have yet to find a 722 locally. So whether...

    D722 to D902 engine swap?

Unfortunately it's looking like around 1000 for the head and valves as suggested on another thread on this site. I'm not totally against it, but there's a 902 listed for under $200 locally. I'm mostly trying to feel out how much aggravation would be involved in that swap... bolt patterns...

    D722 to D902 engine swap?

I've had a BX1850 that I picked up dirt cheap with a cracked head on its D722 engine. I'm finally looking into fixing it, and found a D902 engine locally. Is it possible to make this swap fairly easily? Or would it require a lot of changes? From what I can see, they look very similar and the...

Suggestions while I have head removed?

I'm looking into the parts/costs now. Fortunately, the head I need is the cheaper one, part # 52360 (according to one supplier based on my serial). I have a few more questions. It appears to me that the crack goes from the prechamber to the exhaust port. I've considered reinstalling the...

I can't thank you all enough for your help. The potential hole was just debris like expected, however, there is a small crack. Here are some closer pics of the crack after cleaning.

Wow. Thanks for all the help guys. I see what you're talking about with the potential crack and potential hole. I think I would have noticed if that was a hole, so I'm suspecting debris there, but I'll double check. I'll clean it up better tonight and get more pics. Assuming it is a crack, is...

Suggestions while I have head removed?

Thanks for the advice. I had never worked with valves before, but after reading your comment I watched some YouTube videos and it didn't look too bad. From what I can tell, the valves look really good. I didn't test with a liquid to see if it leaked, but I did cut all lights and stick a...

Suggestions while I have head removed?

I agree. The thermostat appears to be the automotive type. I don't see how this setup could flow any alternative way to bypass the radiator. The metal impeller blades were rusty, but still there (appears to be 100% there). Everything turned easily. I'm at a loss for any explanation on the lack...

Suggestions while I have head removed?

Since nobody sounds too concerned about my suspicions/results, here's my main action items moving forward: 1. Replace water pump and gasket. 2. Replace valve cover gasket (looked okay, but might as well). 3. Replace coolant. 4. Drain all the junk oil. Planning to do this by opening the oil...

Suggestions while I have head removed?

I've never heard of that, but did a quick google search. I may look into that. It looks like you're relatively close to me. Do you know of anywhere in SW MO that does this? Any idea what it costs? Would I take it in disassembled? or put everything back together first?

As soon as I walked away I realized I forgot to mention the thermostat. In my final testing, I completely removed it to make sure it wasn't stuck completely closed.

Suggestions while I have head removed?

First post here with several more to come. I have removed the head from the engine. Before I put everything back together, I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions of maintenance, other things to check/replace, etc. Here's the situation: Long story short, I just purchased a 2009...
