Thanks, i knew the location of the engine oil dipstick. The question was regarding the purpose of the filler cap on the timing cover on the opposite side of the oil filter.

Thanks for your input. That sounds plausible. I assume we are talking engine oil here? It is a three cylinder Mitsubishi engine in this one. Model: MVS3L2-Z564ET The tractor is manufactured in India after Kubota bought a stake in a local manufacturer there.

I just noticed this oil filler cap on my Kubota Ek1-261. There is no dip stick. It seems to be for the timing case, but I find no mentioning of it in the manual. i am wondering what the maintenance requirements for it are, does anyone know? Just trying to be proactive here, no malfunction.
