    B6000 rebuild, hard starting help.

It is a bit hard to see in these photos. They are the best I have, but you can see how the timing marks line up and if you watch the video you can see what happens when the balls are pushed out. I would think if the governor was hooked up incorrectly, it would just fall back to idle...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

Still sounds like fuel starvation to me. I replaced my original fuel pump with an ebay special that looked the same, but didn't work. After it ran for a few minutes, it would stop. They original pump would also do this occasionally. The difference is the old pump allows the fuel to continue...

B7100 Overhauled now trying to seize up

It sounds as if you might be starving it for fuel after it starts. Are you sure all the lines are bled and the injector pump is getting an air free fuel supply. All off the mechanical and soft fuel joints need to be fully secured.

    ZL600 Overhaul

An open engine is not a happy engine. Rust is not nice. You might want to look for a complete ZL600. They are not tricky to rebuild, but with the surface of the block exposed, you will likely have to have it decked. That will mess with the fuel timing and not knowing where you are starting...

    ZL600 Overhaul

The challenge would be sourcing rings and pistons as only standard sizes are readily available. The liners in the ZL600 are stepped at the top and grooved to accept o rings at the bottom, not your typical machine shop sleeves. Folks seems to confuse the wet liner ZL600 with other engines...

    ZL600 Overhaul

I found that everything is available if you are willing to accept international shipments. Here is a thread on my rebuild earlier this year. http://www.vintagemotoring.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2717 I bought the liners, pistons and bearings from Stavros...

    B7100 issue, need your thoughts

I would be inclined to pull the front cover first. It is more likely the freeze plug then the head gasket and that would be the easier/cheaper of the two to fix. If it turns out the head has to come off and it is a block/liner issue, the front cover will be coming off anyway as you are...

    ZL600, water in oil

Indeed the liners are wet wet wet. There are several incorrect postings about the ZL600 liner construction. You can see in this photo as well. They don't get any wetter then this. They are just sealed with o-rings. Since there were so many dry liner postings, I thought that maybe...

    oil in water kubota b6000

You can see a few photos of the liners and o-rings here: http://www.vintagemotoring.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2717 I would think if it was just the o-rings that let go you could be in and out for just the price of the head gasket and o-rings. I have an extra non-Kubota B6000 ZL600 head...

    Problems bleeding B6000 fuel lines

Maybe this is an easy one! It is hard to see the position of the fuel valve in the photo - the one with the blue arrow pointing at it. It looks like the valve may be closed. The lever should be pointing down. In either of the horizontal positions the fuel is shut off. Agree that you should...

    B6000/ZL600 Engine Rebuild - What I learned

Pat, Unfortunately for the ZL600 no one stocks a full rebuild kit. You can find the kits for just about every other model, so you have to piece it together yourself. If you want new wet liners, you can't go to the traditional Kubota resellers as Kubota does not stock these items anymore. I...

    B6000/ZL600 Engine Rebuild - What I learned

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. That's original paint! If I paint it will lose 40 years of hard earned original patina, and what will the concourse judges say? "It it only original once.":) There are no good cheap E-types hanging around the barn/shop anymore. Sadly, those...

    B6000/ZL600 Engine Rebuild - What I learned

I will admit to reading a great deal of the B6000 information shared on this forum and while I haven't participated in many threads, I thought I would share my learning from a recent overhaul of our B6000/ZL600 4x4. We have had the tractor for almost 20 years. We use it for landscaping and...
