That’s the case here in Ohio also. I have had to take down around thirty blue spruce trees on my property so far as they just waste away from the bottom up. Maybe six remain of the originals and their slowly starting to thin out on the bottoms.

Actually I don’t believe this to be the case. The larger L series tractors are assembled here in the States and are marked as such on the serial tag. The 2501’s are shipped here from Japan. Messisk’s has a video on decoding Kubota serial numbers which may be helpful

It's impossible to diagnose online if that yellowed connection is related to your issue or not. Clear plastic insulation sometimes yellows naturally with age so it may just be normal.
