Engine Heaters to assist cold weather starting. Which type?

I've had a block heater in my M6800 since new 21 years ago and still works. My neighbor bought a new 30hp Kubota in the summer and nobody mentioned a heater to him. 1st time in years it's been down to -10F/ -35F with wind chill. We even got 18" of lite snow at 10F that was unusual a week ago...

M6800 new gear shift boot and extra rubber cover

Hard to believe the rubber boot was $40.51 and the 2 spring clips are $12 each. 1 clip actually had a broken circular tab on it. I put plumbers silicone grease on the boot to help it slide over the metal diameter housing. The old boot was dry and cracked but no real thru holes. I cut a rubber...

    Rebuilding a hydraulic pump on a M6800?

It was 0F this am and 20F now starting to warm up to snow tomorrow up to 35F. Inside barn was 22F. I need to take it outside tomorrow and leave it out to tell. By Sunday/Monday predicted to be back down to single digits 5/2 and high about 20F both days that'll be the real test. TY

    Rebuilding a hydraulic pump on a M6800?

The center remote with the steel lines is the factory that came on the tractor. The other was added by the dealer during purchase so I could have hydraulic power to swing the disc bine and the other to lift the head. After stopping haying and getting a wood splitter I had the dealer tap into...

    Rebuilding a hydraulic pump on a M6800?

Using the same pressure gauge and pulling the remote levers on the RS of the seat. Tractor is set at 2,000 rpm. 3 pt hitch arms are all the way down. I just got the gauge at our local NAPA to do the checking. I've never checked it before. I put my horizontal wood splitter on a pallet that I...

Dan, Last night I got the barn up to 44F with a propane heater and drained the hydraulic oil and changed both filters . There was some water in the oil. Today refilled with all new oil. Front remote port where I hook the wood splitter is about 600-700 psi. Rear remote max is about 2,000 psi ...

    Rebuilding a hydraulic pump on a M6800?

Thank you for sensible replies. Need to get the testing done to make a good decision. I don't see any external leaks on the lift cylinders. I've lifted a lot of logs to my sawmill that bring the rear end off the ground and just barely get the logs on the mill or blocking on the side of the...

    Rebuilding a hydraulic pump on a M6800?

https://messicks.com/parts/kubota/3a111-82204 Planning ahead. Can anyone recommend a shop on where to send a pump to thinking it'll be cheaper than the $2K for a new one? I live in upstate NY but this could be easily shipped. Thanks -- Gus

M6800 water in hydraulic oil again. Won't move at 26F. Additives?

This am it was colder at 22F and no problems. Moved logs for 2 hours on frozen ground. Unfortunately tractor sits outside and has 1375 hours on it. Little back breather hose is on top of fill cap on rear of transmission. Once it got running yesterday I had to work it and glad it ran today. I'll...

M6800 water in hydraulic oil again. Won't move at 26F. Additives?

Hello, This happened to me 2 years ago at 18F. When it warms up tractor works good. Yesterday it took to 36F to be able to steer and move again. Can anyone recommend a hydraulic oil additive to help prevent water issues? Thank you
