    New Kubota

I have had zero trouble with the regen in my new MX6000. Happens automatically, hardly even notice.

    Review: Woodmaxx MX9900 Chipper

Last fall, I went through hours and hours and hours of research and conversations with folks here before buying my first tractor and set of attachments. I am going to post a few reviews so that others can benefit from what I have learned. One of the biggest purchases that I made, and the one...

    Winch: Hydraulic vs. PTO?

Commercial skidding winches are available that mount in either place. The SSQA mounted winches are all hydraulic, for some reason the 3 ph winches are all PTO (not sure why that is, but it is. Maybe peole just feel that is a hassle to run hydraulics back there, or maybe the PTO offers more...

    Winch: Hydraulic vs. PTO?

Sorry, I should obviously have been more clear that I would build this winch assembly onto a blade as both the commercial PTO skidding winches and the commercial SSQA skidding winches do. Thus transferring the pulling force onto the ground, not the tractor. And of course in either case there...

    Winch: Hydraulic vs. PTO?

I want to install a winch on my MX6000, to be used primarily for skidding logs. I have remote hydraulics in both the front and the rear - the front circuit, which is rated at 9.5 gpm at 2560 PSI seems plenty powerful enough to drive a fairly big hydraulic winch (certainly something in the 15,000...

2" tow receiver for MX series?

There seem to be a number of folks who make 2" towing receivers designed to bolt directly onto BX series tractors, either front or rear. Does anyone know of a similar product that will fit an MX? Or any other way, short of a 3 point hitch receiver, to easily mount a 2" ball on an MX either...

    Tow Straps

Can I bring this back to the OP's question? How can we safely attach [tow straps, chains, J hooks] to our orange tractor? In my case, an MX series. To the draw bar? To the bucket or front loader? To the rear axle/frame? My application is skidding logs using a steel cable choker. Where do...

Paint for bare steel homebrew attachments?

Ok, after a few days of chasing around and getting a different answer/suggestion at every turn (very much appreciate the thoughts shared here and by PM, but there was just no consistency in the answers that I got), I made a decision. I felt that the original suggestion of a two part epoxy base...

Paint for bare steel homebrew attachments?

Paint for bare steel homebrew attachments?

Did a quick search, didn't see anything. I am looking for recommendations for a paint or coating product to use on a bare steel attachment that I have just finished welding up (log arch). The steel that I used is new - and I cleaned it well prior to assembly. I would like a very high adhesion...

    Should I Buy a MX5800?

Keep in mind that this machine has been replaced by the MX6000 - so the only way to find a 5800 is used or an old production unit still on a dealer's lot somewhere.

    Cover for MX stored outside?

My new MX-6000 will be here in about two weeks. Very excited! The beast will be stored outside, in a pretty wet and windy spot. I would love to cover it when it isn't in use, at least until I can build a garage for it. Any recommendations on a cover? Have been looking at the Classic...

    lighter duty tree shear recommendations?

Looks like Titan sells a 12" shear for around $3k - is that too pricey?

Rubber, meet road... (which attachments to buy??)

Putting in my order tomorrow morning for an MX6000. Having waited two months since they stopped making MX5800's, I am very eager ;) I think I am clear on the attachments that I need, but not at all clear on whose version of each to buy. So I would love any thoughts or feedback or pointers to...

    MX5800 being replaced by MX6000?

Looks, at first glace, like the same machine with slight tweaks. You can get a cab. The 6000 has the same engine as the 5800, but with slightly more horsepower (the machine weighs exactly the same as the 5800). Does anyone see any major differences other than the cab option?
