    Differential Contact Pattern

Thanks, this is a pretty large diff on a small tip truck, backlash specs for this are between .0079- .011 thou. The maximum or replacement limit is 20 thou.

Yes I have read about everyone hating crush sleeves. This beast has a solid collar and a 20 thou spacer as well as the collar. All I needed was to add a 1.9 thou shim to get the correct bearing preload.

    Differential Contact Pattern

Wow thats a lot of damage and I am surprised it was able to be repaired with some expert welding and no doubt a method to harden the teeth. I do notice that a lot of thread comments become anal about getting everything to perfection. In my case I am not too worried about a noisy diff. If I get...

    Differential Contact Pattern

Thank you all, most appreciated to getsome advice. The only change I made, are the bearings and I did need to put a 1.92 thou shim (.05mm metric we use here) on the spacer sleeve. I did this because one of the old bearings felt it was binding as i tried to set the pinion preload. So I bought...

    Differential Contact Pattern

Thank you, appreciate your input. The pinion bearings are the same brand that came out (Koyo). Who knows who may have changed before I owned the truck. The carrier bearings are a different brand but the specs are supposed to be the same. Old bearings were NSK and the new ones are Koyo. But I run...

    Differential Contact Pattern

Hi Guys, This is not about my 4500DT this time but same principal. I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Canter 6 tonne tipper and I have replaced the pinion and carrier bearings in the diff. I needed to add a 2 thou shim on the pinion because the preload was too tight (these have a non crush sleeve type...

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Thanks JohnDB, agreed about how good and helpful people are to share information on this forum. Our model of tractor must be so rare they belong in museums, either that or hardly any ever break down:LOL:

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

JohnDb is a bit of an expert with these tractors. 😁 He won't like me saying that but he has helped me a great deal in the past🙂

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Okay, you need to know the battery is a good battery first, charge it or use another battery. Battery needs a load test not voltage tester to see if a cell is gone or it needs charge. What is the voltage across the battery terminals.? A good one should be about 12.6-12.7 volts. You said you...

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Wolfman has good advice check all terminals are clean, if you have a meter then check voltage, or better battery load tester. Battery can show full voltage and still be stuffed, it needs load test to eliminate it or use another good battery, does the solenoid get hot or just nothing except the...

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Hi did the procedure not work for your linkage?

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Yes that is correct. If your linkage worked then I would think it is an airlock. I would assume all the tractors would be the same:) Make sure you are higher with the transmission. It needs to be pretty steep, but as soon as your high enough it should work. I tried putting oil back through the...

M4500DT 3 point linkage not working after oil change

Did the 3 point linkage work before you did the overhaul? I know mine was definately working before I changed the transmisson oil so I realised that it would be an airlock. The oil just keeps going back in the transmission so the filter can not fill up. It looks like a weird setup if you ask...

Thanks, when i got it running on 5 then number 1 primed itself.

    Injector Pump Delivery valve

I thought the same beacuse there seemed to be bubbles come out of number two when I stopped cranking. Its unusual that it does this #1 did pump a tiny bit at one time. Logical thinking would tend to give you the assumption of pressure from the fuel feed pump would prime the lot if 3-6 was...
