Lifting Hook on an Excavator bucket

Another use for my hook is to keep the bucket from settling down when parked when not using or when using the loader. I welded 2 hooks to the thumb bracket and run a chain thru wrapping the bucket and up to those hooks. I always back it in and I keep cardboard on the garage floor to catch oil...

Front mount flail mower from mid PTO

Looking good Paul! I like that little level, I have one I stick on the grill guard when I am trying to grade the driveway. I have another one I think is a Klein that had a magnetic base and a built in light that was really handy when I would run conduit at my job. But yours the bubbles seem to...

Lifting Hook on an Excavator bucket

On my BH77 I put one in the linkage so I could pick with or without a bucket on. The link has a rectangular opening and my 2, 3/8 plates just sandwich the opening with the bolts going thru the opening so no drilling on the Bh77. Bill

Front mount flail mower from mid PTO

I figured just a little shaking and the dirt would fall thru but it didn't. I have some experience where 120vac motor vibrators were attached to plastic resin hoppers to keep flowing. They make them in hydraulic and 12 volt. I may try one of them one day or build a screen that I could dump a...

Front mount flail mower from mid PTO

I know that feeling, I made a loader bucket out of some bar grating thinking I could sift rocks out of soil. Fail! I made a backhoe attachment to replace the bucket and come against the thumb to pull at roots. Instant mangled steel first use! But the loader bucket still is useful to move dirt as...

Looks good RWS but could you move your mouse, there is a few more things I need like a land plane! I have put a couple switches in that black loader control cover. The one I used was a momentary one that I had for the linear actuator so no light needed. But the one for my 3rd function is a...

    Hydraulic help

I know it is a a different class of machine but my L2501 has always been that way, it won't lift a full bucket up thru a pile. It seems to have adequate curl but lacks lift. I figured it was 1, a safety factor of the loader design to keep from breaking it and 2, to keep the homeowner type from...

When I added those 2 double split shat collars I was trying to do what these things do. https://www.sloanex.com/b6kfr2x2ys-118114shaft.html I had a passing thought of opening the cylinder and putting a spacer inside but decided I might mess up a seal taking it apart. Pulled the Kubota out...

Mine works pretty nice. I ordered the fittings to improve my fitting horror show. I also ordered 2 flow restricters that should make it here next week. I started my hydraulic adventures on my 8N when I added hydraulics and a snow plow to that. I used the standard 1/4" npt fittings used on fisher...

Another interesting concept. What i envisioned this morning with your tube within a tube was that on one end of the cylinder and the inner tube would have an approximately 1" long slot and a thru pin that contained it and limited its travel. that and like an engine valve spring on the end so the...

So are you going to reduce the over stroke I solved with the shaft collars with this sliding amount of around an inch? If I am on the same page that is a great idea. Either way you got me thinking again! Bill

Very nice kits there. My mistake,,, was taking the valve posting size and breaking my promise to myself and waiting until I had the valve in hand, dumb, move but yesterday I got out the calipers and thread gauge and ordered what I needed in SAE 8. You and the Old Machinist brought out a lot of...

Well I took all day trying to install mine, because,,,,,,,,, I took them at their word at 10 sae I should of payed attention to the 3/4 on the red plugs because it is 8 sae. I ordered fittings from Surplus center and was screwed on them working. I had it tore apart and mounted when I found out...

I got my diverter valve yesterday and it came with no documentation for the ports so I went looking. Just thought I would share what I found. P1 & P2 seemed obvious, then in the static position ports C&D go to the grapple, then energized position ports A&B go to my SSQA cylinder. That cleared...
