    L3200 PTO won't disengage

Had the same issue with my L3800. Found the arm, where the lower end of the cable attaches, was very stiff. The arm goes into the transmission case. Sprayed some lube and worked it a little and it freed up. Now part of normal maintenance routine.

L3800 Dash Panel Removal - Tach Cable

Got it fixed last night. Not that big of a job, just need to know how the pieces of the puzzle go together. Some pictures attached. There are four bolts that hold the steering/dash shroud on, two are obvious on the front, two more can be found after the hood is raised, picture with ratchet...

Thanks lugbolt. The cable is broke on the engine end, about 1 inch from the metal end that engages the engine drive. I have the new cable, may try and work on it tonight.

Finally! Got to play in the snow with my new rig.

PHPaul - What switch are you using to get out 100 yds.? I've wanting to set something like that up but everything I've found is 150' on a good day.

L3800 with a woods bush hog

I have a gear box that uses the bottom corner cover bolt hole as the drain. Just take the bolt out and the case drains. Might be something to look into.

    Cleaning the engine?

100% Simple Green in a hand spray bottle, give it a good coat, let it set for 10 minutes and rinse off with a garden hose. Do this every time you clean up your toy and you won't have any issues keeping her looking new.

PTO lever is not disengaging the PTO

Good deal. I think the clearance between the lever and the casting is so tight that the slightest amount of dirt or rust causes things to bind up. I unhooked the cable when I was trying to get mine freed up. Used some penetrating oil, then blew it out with air then back with some TriFlow...

PTO lever is not disengaging the PTO

Look under your seat where the cable connects to the lever. Put some lubricant on that levers pivot point where it goes into the casting. Have made this part of my normal maintenance routine.

    split pin plug leak

Does the 3240 have a PCV valve or some other crankcase pressure relief set up on the valve cover? If it is restricted under heavy load the crankcase can build up enough pressure to force fluids by seals. Been there, done that. Something simple to check and may not be your problem.

    split pin plug leak

Could be building pressure due to load and pushing fluid past the seals.

    L3800 PTO won't shut off

My L3800HST had issues with the PTO not shutting off. What I found was the cable was buckling between the lever and the cable shroud. Went to my dealer and the parts guy said that some had an issue with how the cable was routed and the lift arms for the two point would pinch the cable making...
