I bought an L2501 last December, manual trans with a few attachments including 3rd function & grapple, just turned over 100 hrs yesterday...Iv'e never had an automatic tractor and am comfortable with the shifting of gears, I have had 0 problems & 0 buyers remorse...I do have a big ass smile...

thanks for the input...I think I will sell the old girl...the L2501 has eclipsed her & it's worth alot to just use it for a generator.

I was thinking about ways to use my old b7200 to drive a generator & wonder about the faster pto speed and what it would/could be good for, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks..

I got 2 hrs on the seat yesterday, WOW that grapple really rips shit up/out..I had enough seat time to get used to a few things and figure out the best gear combo for back & forthing. Now I have never tried an HST so i don't no what I might be missing but I do drive a 6 speed Tacoma..I like...

Thanks for the input, the tractor is an L2501, I did contact another dealer who is working on a quote for me, then I can see how much difference, if any & go from there, worth saving what you can.j

OK, 1st off the forum & orange tt has been very helpful with the big decision...I'm old but not rich & tractor buying is some serious $... after the dealer quote came through I went online and built the same thing...the basic tractor without all the implements & grapple...turns out the dealers...

alot of interesting info/opinions & Iv'e been considering all of them...so I decided to go with a gear trans..I can deal with the PTO issue..the tractor has a backhoe FEL & grapple, Industrial loaded tires, a nice orange brush hog, 60", & a box blade. qualified for the 20% down 84 months 0%...
