    waste oil used all the time to heat with. Got to have the correct nozzle and great filtering too. Typically the oil needs to be thinned a bit, sometimes not - has to be somewhat clean too.

    Dipstick tells the truth........ most of the time! Butttttt............. the dipstick CAN lie too - the little rubber stopper can move along the stick - so be aware of that !

    Rotella T6.......... they have two blends... 5w-40 and 15w-40.......... the 5w-40 would be my choice in the cold of NY.

    As for the proverbial "gauge" - and infrared thermometer is a NOT contact and even the cheap ones are plus/minus 2% ....... So even if off a bit - it gives you a hellva lot of info. I gauge that dips its wick into the coolant has the same problem with accuracy as the infrared...... most OEM...

    Dick, I am confused - you mention 1800 rpms on the 750 PTO speed...... now this might be wrong - but I would think you would want to cut at 540 at a higher torque curve - thus 2300?

    In line fuse holder of 30 amps would work just fine. I would flux, solder and shrink wrap the raw ends too.
