I built a simple raised flower bed for my sunflowers I grow every year. I made it out of pressure treated and boy that sucker was HEAVY.

Not heavy for the tractor tho 😁

I had some mature shrubs up and die over the winter, must of been too cold as I’ve seen alot dead rhododendron and juniper after this winter that usually survives. Used the hoe to rip them out and forks to move them to a staging area before disposal. It’s a shame as they finally had spread to the size I needed to cover a area Now to decide what to plant next.

Sort of, what most likely happen was that weather warmed up enough to break winter dormancy (got water flowing into the plant when warm) then it got down below freezing and the water in the plant cells froze and broke the cells. Plants can handle deep cold if it's dormant... but it's when it freezes after dormancy is broken, that's the (new) problem.

Horse hay today...It really doesn't look edible to me.

While doing so, I picked up a flail mowing, grading and seeding job while I was there. That's fine with me as I have chosen not to advertise this year. I'm trying to get away from "landscaping" jobs. They are no longer any fun for me.

I'd have to go out in the back forty to change it, just had to move it a short distance but long enough to be a pita by hand kinda thing.
You need a second tractor. Definitely. You can leave the forks on this one then. Sell the washing machine and you have the deposit.

Neighbor decided she wanted to convert her weeded woods into grass...quickly.

I was planning on hitting it with the flail then grading it. Decided to skip a step and get it done for her this evening.

The EA rake is a beast.

I probably shouldn't have rescheduled my 30 yr anniversary dinner tonight?

I mowed my "ag acre" which is really just an acre overseeded with Spring and Fall wildlife mix and clover. Also mowed the road frontage which is 900 feet by about 40 to 50 feet deep back to the tree line.

I got back home around 5.45pm today after close to 3,400 miles of driving. I picked up the new bumper for the F-450 this morning in Moore, MT and drove about 350 miles with it strapped to the new trailer.

Within 20 minutes of getting home, I fired up the MX and took the bumper off the trailer and put it in the garage out of the weather. I'm probably going to use the MX with pallet forks to hang the bumper for final prep and painting, and to install it on the truck. It weighs a little over 300lb.

Very Nice implement. 👍

It’s next on my bucket list. Couple questions:

1. Can your rake grass effectively without ripping out the grass with that? Is it reasonable to think you go rake a large lawn with that and maybe offset the blade at an angle to make a winrow, so you could come back and collect with the bucket? Could you do that with grass and leaves without destroying the lawn?

2. in your opinion, is there any reason to add hydraulics to it or reason not include hydraulics on that implement?

thanks.

Not really, you'd tear out the grass. Some success when pushing the rake backwards but it's of limited utility. I'd think that you'd be better served with a spring rake/de-thatcher.

2. in your opinion, is there any reason to add hydraulics to it or reason not include hydraulics on that implement?

Not that I see. I wouldn't bother with the extra associated costs for hydraulics. I would say that the gauge wheels (although expensive) are worth the investment.

thanks.
Short answer to both of your questions would be "No".
