So me and grandson head to TSC this morning for some "pioneer dust caps"

Well they decided to put one of these things right next to those dust caps.....

Grandson : Hey grandpa, can I buy this?

Paul: Do you have 500 dollars plus tax?

Grandson: Whats tax?

Paul: Nevermind.....

Grandson: So can I get it please.

Paul: Sure.....why not? Grandma probably has it.




Well someone at TSC HQ needs to call my daughter and explain themselves and their "predatory advertising" techniques.

I picked up a Coleman cc100x from marketplace, not running. Ultrasonic the carb for 15 minutes and she’s alive! Not a bad $200 purchase. May swap in a predator 212cc to replace the 79cc stock engine. Or may list it and see if I can make a buck.

I bought a similar mini bike at tractor supply less than a year ago for my 12 year old daughter who had asked for one repeatedly. I think she has ridden it 3 times. The good news is I get to relive my childhood hauling ass around the house regularly with the dog nipping at my heels. Fun times.

My son wanted a dirt bike when he was about 10 so we bought him one of those and told him if he rode it much, we’d get him a real dirt bike. He rode it maybe three times. Wife and I both rode it more than he did. Several years later sold it to a 300lb guy that had his license permanently revoked and couldn’t afford a moped. I got it on some door buster sale for $175 and sold it to him for $150. I know he rode it to work and back for a while.

They’re cheap, fun to ride, and easy to work on.

Be forewarned, I bought myself a minibike much like that one when I was 12. It started a lifelong motorcycle habit.

FWIW, I earned that money delivering newspapers and mowing lawns. I don't think youngsters have that opportunity these days even if they are motivated because adults deliver newspapers and mow lawns for a living.

My older brother had a minibike like that many decades ago.

Had no idea they still made something like it.

Was fun around the farm, when he let me ride it.

He couldn't fix it, but I learned how to do some stuff. Got me leverage for some seat time....

I later bought a Kawasaki KX125...more fun indeed...

Rode mine around after moving and cutting wood. Pretty sure the clutch hates me, it was smelling funky. Still had fun making a few laps around the house chasing the kids on their power wheels.
