How did you remove the gland nut? Spanner wrench of Monkey/Pipe wrench?
There are two configurations possible. One type has the two holes (for a spanner wrench) as in the pic below:

Cyl Repair1.jpg

The other will have two holes 180° apart about the circumference of the gland boss and utilizes an adjustable 'Pin Spanner' to loosen the gland:

You can drill holes in the circumference of the gland boss (keeping them shallow) if want to use a pin type wrench rather than a face spanner. Or skip either method and just use a pipe wrench. The glands are not on the cylinder very tightly.

Installed a Summit 3rd function kit on my L3901DT. I don't have the wiring done, still thinking about how I want to connect it. Would like to have it on a switched power line, but I don't want to use a vampire tap. Anyone that has installed one of these kit have any insight on where to connect it?

Mover the 1700 out of the way to set the satellite post. Went down 3’ and used Sika Post Fix from Home Depot. 15 seconds to mix and 3-5 min to fully set. They claim the same strength as 2-50# bags of concrete. I’ll be building a raised bed around the pole to cut down on maintenance

I can't speak to your model specifically, but I ran it through a water tight automotive relay to the battery. The relay coil is picked by the work light circuit. Even when I add lights, they will be LED so the total current draw will be way under the circuit capacity.

$16.07 / ton
delivery was $109.12

and then I see they added a $47 fuel surcharge. they never mentioned that on the phone :( It's just a bs way to make more $$$. I'm abt 15 miles from the plant (Meriden). 30 miles roundtrip, one empty. If the damn truck gets an average of 5mpg then they burn 6 gallons of diesel. At $5.00 / gal that's $30.00, total. Assuming they were paying $3.00 / gal before it got crazy they are charging an additional $35.00 over their actual increase.
When I wanted some equipment delivered from San Antonio I walked into the hauling service office and asked the charges and they quoted me $640. When the equipment was delivered a few days later the driver off-loaded it and then filled-out the delivery invoice for $640 plus $77 “fuel surcharge”…. which I promptly told him he could remove that charge because it wasn’t what I was quoted and I wasn’t going to pay it.
He scratched it off…and I wrote a ck for the $640 as quoted.

When my propane delivery invoices arrive my wife pays the bill and files away the invoices. One day I noticed that I was being charged “fuel surcharge” and “hazardous mat’l fee”. They amounted to $24 and $11 each…totally $35. I checked the files and see they had been doing that for the past Year! (I have been doing business with this company for 30 years and about three years ago it came under new ownership.)
I called the office, told them I was a 30+ year customer of monthly-service calls and had never been charged those fees and never agreed to them and wanted the ENTIRE YEARS SURCHARGES REFUNDED.
They did.
The following month the fees/surcharges appeared again on my invoice….so I called their competitor …who charges 5-cents more per gallon ….but laughed when I asked about “fuel surcharges and hazardous mat’ls fees”.
”NO!…. we don’t play those silly games.”

I switched propane dealers. That was 3 years ago and every few months I get a post card from the original dealer inviting me to “Come Try” their full service “with no delivery fees”.

I posted this entire explanation in our local paper classifieds. and I NAMED NAMES! Fugg ‘em!

(ps: the original dealer with whom I did business for 30+ years was Bill Smith Butane (no problems) who was bought out by Pinnacle (the greedy). I now get my propane from a small Mom&Pop outfit known as “4-T”.

After much thought on it I finally did it, I built a linkage to the rear of my tractor to operate the rear remote from the back of the tractor. Its in the test phase for a bit before I clean it up and paint it.
Finished the remote linkage and it works great. I'm surprised Kubota doesn't make this an option.

Used the forks to unload a skid of pelletized lime. Had to handbomb half on to another skid first. Had the tiller on for rear ballast.

Have been tied up working on house interiors and estate matters since my father’s passing to the detriment of some of the usual outside maintenance so the Kubota has been sitting more than I would prefer. There was a mud hole that had developed at the basement door of Dad’s old house I got tired of slogging through and dragging mud in the house so a very short trip to the creek for a half bucket of sand and another short trip to the gravel pile for some washed 3/4” to top it off was in order. Not much of a project but would have been without a loader.

The reason Kubota didn't make it an option is because it can be dangerous. You will be operating in a crush zone. It's a nice tidy bit of work but be careful back there!
