Amrl, I'm a little confused,
I'm pretty sure if your kit has the spline adapter that bolts onto the Crank pulley it should be larger the 18mm, that was an upgrade.
Not that it won't work for Brad, he would just need to get the other crank pulley to be able to attach the adapter to it.

Got it. All he has is the crankshaft pulley and hub. Is that shaft still available from Kubota?

Dan
No the shafts are obsolete, and I've never found a direct replacement.

On the B's you working with very very little little rom in there, but one option is to get a Lovejoy coupling and use that on the engine instead of the splined shaft witch is known to wear really easily and strip out.

Thats what I figured. I am familiar with the wear issues on other machines. If the shaft is mounted with excessive runout it eats the splines. I like roller chain couplers in these applications - inexpensive, really robust, and a lot more HP than Lovejoys.

Brad,
OK, so my hub bolts to the crankshaft pulley ( it is a hub with splines as your picture )by 3 bolts, then a long shaft slips on that, shaft has the electric clutch attached with mount bracket and side plates. I'm sure this is what you need. This was a working unit for front attachments.
What I don't see in your pictures is 3 tapped holes in your crank pulley to attach the spline hub.

I know it can get confusing but, TheOldHokie put the shaft pic up, not Brad.

So that shaft and all will work, Brad would just have to change his bottom pulley to the style with the mounting holes.

My apologies for introducing even more confusion into this conversation. I have been thinking about trying to do somethiong in the way of a front PTO for some time now which is why I jumped in.

My phone does a horrible job rendering the photos on this site. I am now looking at them again on a desktop and I think I am beginning to catch on. Looking at Brad's picture it appears the spline is part of the crankshaft and the pulley slips over and past it and is secured with a nut. That would explain the 18mm (just under 3/4") major diameter he keeps talking about. That pulley has no provision for bolting on the flanged hub. The other version of the pulley has the bolt holes and pilot for the hub. Am I finally getting this right?

Well, I wonder if that spline (on Brads tractor) would just accept the PTO shaft with the clutch as is, without the hub? I'll get pictures posted today. If it won't fit then I'll just put it in storage, Might even put it back on the tractor if I find a snow blower or such.

Arml,
The D in B7100D is for Diesel. I think the e on your B5100e indicates 2WD.
Anyway, the weight is removable and removed in the pics attached.
I have three bolt holes that mount the unit to each side of the tractor.
I believe the pto output shaft would bolt to the front plate (which mine has 8 holes)
See the following pics

Pic 1 - Showing a side pic with 3 bolt holes for the unit to mount to

Pic 2 - Showing PTO spline end (18MM x 22 tooth) (where the front pto shaft would slide onto - then bolt onto the front plate in pic 3)

Pic 3 - Showing the front mounting plate/bumper with 8 holes (in the middle of pic 3 you can make out a portion of the pto output spline from pic 2)

Hopefully that makes sense?

Yes, it will accept the front pto shaft/clutch directly and it's what I see in all of my B7100D manuals, no spline adapter needed. I know what the pto adapters look like and those pto adapter ends match my front tractor pto output shaft (yes, an extension of the crankshaft) ie no adapter needed. The pic of the front pto shaft with clutch below should slide right on and bolt right up. Wiring and switch is already in place to activate the clutch.

Kubota made two different PTO kits B9310 and B9320. Both were used on some B5100, B6100, B7100 models. The PTO shaft in the B9310 kit appears to fit over the 18mm spline on the end of the crankshaft. The PTO shaft in the B9320 kit is different. It fits over a much larger spline on a hub that is bolted to the crankshaft pulley. Armi has the B9320 kit and the PTO shaft in it will not work with the crankshaft spline on your tractor. You need the pulley from the B9320 kit.

Brad,
Well, seems mine is ......this so confusing, I'm just ready to call it quits. This hub measures 18mm ID and 30mm OD, which tells me it slips over your crankshaft splines. Are you sure you have no bolt holes on your crank pulley ? If not then you need another pulley and I can't help you with that.

That number not withstanding is pretty clear from the pictures your PTO shaft is not going to fit the shaft on his tractor. Here is that same hub installed on my B7200. You can see the smaller spline inside the larger one. The OD of the spline on the adapter is well over 1"

That is the exact hub I have, OD is 30mm 1.765 which fits the shft, ID is 18mm which would fit his crank spline but, if he has no holes drilled in his pulley then what would hold it in place? Gezz, I give up. Wolfman, please delete this add, I'll just keep it.

I'm done with it....just wanted to help out some one that could use it, got too complicated, I was trying to give it away at that asking price, don't won't or need after sale complications. Unit worked well, no issues, that's it. Going in the storage shed. Thank you forum for your input. Brad, good luck , I'd like to have helped you out. This thread is closed to me.

Dan,
Ok, I see what your talking about. i can get the B9320 pulley (items #1 and #2) from Messicks as they show as available. Arml has item #3 (the "flange pto" ie spline adapter that bolts to the B9320 pulley) so his B9310 unit will work. Thanks for your help on this!

There appears to be multiple front pulleys used on the B7100. One version was splined to the crank. If you have that model the pulleys may not interchange.

is there any identifying s/n for the splined version?
