As I twiddle my thumbs waiting for our B2601 to arrive, I keep window shopping tools. Are there any key tools I should have? Other than basic socket, wrench, etc?

Thinking a large set of impact sockets would be a good addition.

Torque wrench. I have 2, one is 3/8 drive and one is 1/2” drive. they are IMO a very important tool.

A torque wrench so you don't snap off bolts with impact driver. Baby sledge hammer, pry bars, decent test meter for electrical testing. Quick hitch and only buy QH compatible implements. Funnel for adding oils/fluids, battery powered (in can) fuel pump - 5 gal cans get heavy for top mounted tanks. oil filter wrench

How much you need depends on how much maintenance you will do vs dealer.

Coming from working on cars, I found what I lacked for the tractor were sockets, and wrenches to do 7/8" to 1 3/4" fasteners. I have also used my torque multiplier a handful of times.

Have a round faced drift handy for punching out any shear pins you break. 1/4" is a good size I find.

A workshop manual, and a complete review of the owner's manual. More important then any wrenches for a long time!!

I use a mix of metric and SAE, in the bigger sizes either works. Implements often need the larger sizes. Bolts on the brush hog, and landscape rake come to mind. The torque multiplier has saved me a few times when my electric impact was too wimpy for the job.

Crescent wrenches of different sizes, pipe wrench or two, assorted hammers chisels and punches, PLIERS, snapring pliers, visegrips, heel and pry bars, seal pullers and knockers, open end/box end wrench sets both standard and metric, a set of screwdrivers, torch set and welder........too many toys to list. A man can never have too many tools.

Cruise yard and estate sales. You can find good at decent prices. Pawn shops arent a bad place to look either. Harbor Freight for cheap specialty tools you wont use very much.

If you have to use a can for fuel get a good one, probably not plastic in the correct size and yellow in color. I like the 2 gallon Just Rite brand since I have to lift it up high and don’t use much fuel

Be patient, when you get it you'll discover what you need. The way I see it is a lot depends on what you use it for, for example, a 3# sledge hammer is useful to me for backhoe removal or install, but since I have a qh I don't need it for implements. And because I use a qh I bought bushings and an adapter etc... the point I'm trying to make is other than some metric wrenches and sockets you can't really tell what you might need. IMHO

100% agree. I wont buy anything until I need it. Call it cabin fever and internet window shopping.

I dont have high-powered pneumatic tools, and my electric ones only get me to around 200 pounds. However, with a torque multiplier, you can pretty much get anything on or off. Ive done 500+ ft lbs easy, it uses a gear reduction. They are around $200. Just brace the end on something solid. I've used it for brush hog blade bolts, axle bolts, trailer ball, and most recently the giant pivot bolt on the landscape rake. It's like reaching for the bigger hammer :)

This particular one is 1/2" drive in and 3/4" drive out.

Just a thought:
if the attached tool box is as small as mine was when I got my L3301, you should consider replacing it with something bigger. Then you'll have room for those tools you collect!

All good suggestions........I found that I needed the large 1" ratchet set right off the bat dealing with the large nuts and bolts on the 3pt implements when I got my QH......my regular sets did not have sockets large enough.

I keep open end wrenches of a couple key sizes in the little on board tool box, sizes for the 3pt jam nuts and they double to stick through the "bracket" on the 3pt cam adjuster to make turning it much easier......

Get a shackle that fits the draw bar.

As others have mentioned, think through your fuel filling process and gadgets. That being said I really appreciate Kubota's overfill "funnel and tube".......finally needed it.....so they pre-planned for idiots like me.....
