As I wait for my new L2501 next week I am searching any information that may be useful as this is my 1st Kubota. I currently have a 67' Ford 3000. Any tips, tricks, or lookouts will all be appreciated. Many thanks, Paul

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new tractor. I've had my L2501 for about a month now. It's a great tractor. My first Kubota tractor, I also have an RTV. I'm still learning about the tractor, no tips or tricks yet, but there is tons of info on this site and TBN. Good luck

As with any new piece of equipment; read the manual. Then read it again.

Manual covers details. If you got the HST, I had to learn that the treadle pressure is a speed selector/ not power or throttle!!

Pushing down harder on the treadle reduces torque to the wheels and can stall it--- easing up on the treadle gives more torque and be ready to apply the Differential lock, or use 4WD if needed. Great tractor- super easy to use.

I love the HST for its maueverability when brush hogging or easing into things with the FEL. Cruise lever is nice when you're lined out and want to keep the same speed. I'm sure I would enjoy the Gear tranny, but quite pleased coming from an old Farmall Super C

Congrats. The more time u spend on it the better u will be at using whatever implements u have or get. My best advice would just because it’s a 4x4 tractor doesn’t mean it can go anywhere in any conditions. I stuck mine real good in the creek second day I had it. I don’t try that anymore. It can get a lot done in minimal time once u get a little seat time in under your belt.

Thanks to all that replied, great advise!! I did go with the HST as I will be doing more loader work than PTO or 3 point work. This forum is loaded with good advice and real time experience. Plan on reading the manual and keeping up with the maintenance schedule. Almost did the the 3rd function hyd.

Welcome to OTT JPB. :) This a great site with a lot of info.

Congrats on the new tractor. That tractor is a real workhorse.

One thing to remember is to keep the screen in front of the radiator clean. I was surprised how much fine dust will get through the screen and onto the radiator. With the small radiators Kubota uses, it can overheat easily with a dirty radiator.

Thanks mickyd for the head up on the screen. For sure don't need it running hotter than it already is here in SC.:)

I am looking for some forks. Trying to find some used ones local. I can see so many applications for a set.

Congratulation! Mine had pretty low hours on the clock when delivered. Oh, and it has not regenerated yet:D
