L3250 - no hydraulic pressure after engine rebuild

I began driving the machine out of the shed for the first time in 16 months, after an engine teardown and rebuild, when I realized that I had no power steering and no hydraulic pressure going to the 3 point hitch (loader not yet attached).
I'm hoping it is trapped air?
This weekend I was planning on loosening the send and return lines while running the tractor hoping that It could help bleed out some air??

Everything looks good. No leaks. All new hoses and clamps. All pipes and other pump interfaces have new O-rings.
Hydraulic pump was in a box for 12+ months? Main hydraulic pipe from Xmission was taped off to prevent dirt from entering. Hydraulic box was never removed. Xmission never drained just topped off to Full mark before starting.

Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

With the loader being off the tractor, check the routing of the loader bypass hose at the hydraulic block and the position of the diverter valve screw slot (see attached pdf)

The number of times I can't see the forest for the trees......doesn't get better with age either.....:p:p

AAAAAAAAAAAAhahaha, Thank you RCW!!! I am beyond excided and pumped right now knowing that attaching the bypass hose will likely solve my hydraulic issue - so I can begin the engine break-in process hopefully the very next time I start the engine.
Don't want any oil build-up caused by unseated rings this time around - and Mr. Bargeron knows exactly what I'm talking about.

The number of times we pulled a bone-head maneuver is countless. (Those that say they never have are lying or don’t do anything!)
My mistake is usually over-thinking, and not ruling out the simple stuff first.

Wait a minute, I just got back from getting an electrician to check out a problem in a rental property.

There was a light over the washer/dryer area, one in a hallway, two in a kitchen area wouldn't work. I replaced one of the bulbs and it still didn't work, so I contacted the guy who can figure it out.

I had 4ea burned out light bulbs!! Even the one I used to replace what was in there was burnt out.

Most expensive light bulbs I've ever replaced.

Feel better now?:D

Must have been a power surge on that circuit. Wouldn't think all the bulbs would go at the same time :rolleyes:

Me neither, but I really think it was tenants who were lazy! They just moved out earlier this month, thank God!

Speaking of absent-minded moves, when I sold my old Kawasaki mule the buyer wanted to take it home in the bed of his pickup. We didn't have ramps handy so we backed the mule into the lift bay of my garage and raised it up using the lift. Then we backed the pickup in and lowered the mule into the bed. The only problem was the mule's ROPS was too high to go back out the door. DOOH! :eek:

The L3450 and L3650 are very similar too - many other loaders use the supply hose connected back to the hydraulic block as a bypass while loader and valve are removed. Take care, Dick B.

Yes I kind of figured that
So I tried connecting the bypass hose and adjusting the bypass valve and still no power steering or three point hydraulic pressure tried the adjustment screw both ways since I can't see the markings and still nothing the bypass hose only goes on one connection it's not like I can make a mistake
tried unscrewing the hydraulic oil filter while running and dry as a bone

To add insult to injury I decided to drive the tractor around in the snow in high gear try to give it a workout and was doing a pretty good job had the temperature slightly up over half which was tough to do and then the tractor stalled looks like something happened to the fuel supply fuel filter is still full still have a quarter of a tank of gas wondering if something happened to the fuel pump shoot me please
Tractor is in the middle of my yard getting soaked right now on my way to the store to get a heavy-duty tarp.

Have plenty of preservatives and additives in the fuel and the fuel is very fresh. Tried opening the air valve and still nothing battery cranks but sounds like no fuel

I eventually got it started after I got back from the store but when I closed the air vent the tractor stalled. Fuel filter is also showing 1/4 filled so I'm wondering if there is a clog at the bottom of the tank or maybe the new fuel hose is slightly kinked
I can handle the fuel problem but no hydraulic pressure is still very worrisome to me
As always any ideas are greatly appreciated

Air can take a while to work out of the system.

I had taken my Bobcat 743 to the dealer to have new axle bearings installed. They got the machine back together (after a month), and called me to say that there was a hydraulic problem. The loader would work, but it was jerky. I went over there, and asked if they had bled all the air out of the system. They assured me that this wasn't the problem. I told them that it was, and that they hydraulics were fine prior to them working on it. Before I could get back home, they had called to tell me that it was fine, now- just air in it...

So I guess i can try loosening both send pipes on my hydraulic pump and re-loosen my oil filter (power steering receive hose side) and see what happens. If nothing happens I can try filling both my hydraulic pump and hydraulic oil filter with fluid.

I found and fixes a kink In the fuel line that should fix the obstruction in fuel flow. I also filled the fuel tank with freshly treated fuel.
-- Now back to hydraulics: Before I start the air bleeding process recommended by Hodge I did try connecting my loader the other day and still no hydraulic pressure. I noticed something strange. The hydraulic bypass hose with female connector only connects to male connector on right side of hydraulic box. Would need a male to male coupler to properly connect to the output connector suggested by the manual.
- Now I'm really confused. I know It's been 16 months but I don't recall ever having a coupler connected to the bypass hose that would then mate to the output female connector.
The loaded btw connected to the 3 lines perfectly
A short line connects from the loader control to bypass line and 2 long lines connect to the other 2 lines on the box.
Am I not connecting this right?
