Bent back blade

Well anyone named Gorden should know all about twisted metal,,,,lol,,
OK Im being silly, you could try putting it back on the tractor and SLOWLY pulling the twisted side back. Chain it to a tree and SLOWLY pull up,, or take it off and try running your truck over it a few times.. Other wise find somebody with a BIG old press and see if they can bring it back to almost straight. Might be easyer to find a new blade

It belonged to my neighbour ,I don't know what he hit ,he has since passed away so I bought his tractor and the implements ,he bought another back blade ,I would probably sell this one ,I don't really have any use for it ,I just thought if someone else could use it I would tell them how to straighten it .Thanks for the tips!Jeff

I have been almost thrown from a tractor doing 3 mph with a back blade while hitting something unmovable!

What's the tractor look like? You gotta have more issues than that if it was attached to a tractor when that happened!

I don't know if it hurt the tractor ,I own it now and I don't think there is any issues with it ,runs and drives just fine.
Call it a V plow & add $100 to the price. LOL Just kidding, WOW that is a big bend. I would be very careful however you straighten that blade. We are talking tons of force to move that steel back into place.
Need to find someone with a trackhoe or dozer to reshape it!!
Had a friend, years ago, have a blade bent, and not nearly as bad as that. He put one end on a piece of RR tie, then drove his F150 Ford onto the back side thinking it would remove the kink. Not a chance. Didn't phase the thing!

Looks like someone took a running start backwards at a frozen corner of a snow bank.
If this is what the operator did, "Looks like someone took a running start backwards at a frozen corner of a snow bank.", just be thankful it was the blade that bent!!
- Remove the blade from the assembly.
- Remove the cutting edge from the blade and source a new cutting edge.
- Set the blade on the ground in front of one of the rear tires of the tractor on level ground. Make certain the blade is pointed 'up' like a mountain or ramp for the tire. Drive forward slowly. The blade should bend back into an approximate flatish shape.
- After that, it's heat and beat anvil work to finalize the blade shape.
- Weld on reinforcing steel (angle iron or narrow box stock) across the back in two strips, one just above the cutting surface.
- Strip, prime and paint.
- Remount the cutting edge.
- Remount the blade.
Or buy another blade with a wrecked mount and swap it out!

I thought about the same thing! Still not sure it would get flat ....then again a fully loaded dump truck would lay the smack down on it !

I would use dirt as my backer. It would try to keep the 'curve' in the face of the blade. I'd think concrete might flatten it out more face-wise.
It's just a poor man's fix anyway. That blade will never be the same strength and it would take a day of pounding just to get it back looking right. You'd almost be better off starting with some cut flat stock and have someone with a roller set roll the face curve into it and mount a new cutting edge.
I'd personally pitch the blade in the scrap/reuse pile and use the mount for something different like a trencher or something else I could fab up.

I fixed one like that, 30 ton press,takes a lot of little pushes to get it near its old shape. New cutting edge for a straight edge to push towards. Had to add an angle to top to keep it straight.
It could be fixed you have any friends that work in a fab shop? A press break would make quick work of it. Would need to reinforce the back of it.
