What is this piece of metal in my hydraulic filter?

OK, that doesn't look like a busted tooth.....looking at picture #2.
Maybe the end of a dipstick ???

That piece is 3/4" long and has a chamfer on both ends. Doesn't look like it broke off of anything. Looks like something that fell into the system by accident.

It's definitely some sort of gear tooth.

It's a gear tooth. You can see where it fractured off the gear.

It is definitely a tooth off a gear in the transmission section. As has been stated if the parking mechanism locks into one of the countershaft gaers

One other thing comes to mind, is it possible that some used hydraulic fluid was added at anytime in it's life.
Or was it in for repairs anytime in it's life?

At about 60 hours I was using a PTO mulcher and it threw a limb into the belly causing a huge hemorrhage. I immediately stopped the tractor and had a friend look under it while I bumped the starter. A banjo type fitting had come loose and that's where it was spraying from.

I tightened up the fitting and topped it off with tractor supply universal fluid, but only enough to get it to the barn and on the trailer.

It went straight to the dealer where they repaired the damage, flushed the entire system and refilled it with UDT-II and replaced the filters. It's been seemingly fine since then.

hmm, good more pictures, different angles
someone's going to have a 'hands on education' tearing the tractor down to replace the busted gear ! Hope you take LOTS of pictures and report back WHICH gear it is.

Agreed it's definitely a gear tooth but from the looks of it, it has very minimal wear on it. Doesn't look like it has 400+ hours on it. I think it broke off a long time ago.
