After living here for five years I have decided to invest some money every year to make needed improvements. Back porch this year. It was tile that you could skate on when wet. Workers showed up today. Guy that owes the company offered me a pretty good discount if I would use the tractor to dig and haul out the dirt. Wait....get paid to drive the tractor!?!?!?! Ill update as they make progress. Tomorrow they are framing/pouring concrete where the old flower (weed) bed was and the adding the extension, basically from the vase to the corner by the shovel. PS not sure why I always get duplicates when I hit "Full Image"

Holy Sh!t......... talk about a "engineering fail".

We have tile in our place, inside, and I have to cover the floor with about 30 towels when people come over to swim, cause when you hit that tile with wet feet, its "down you go".

I can't imagine how dangerous that would be outside.

Looks good, but the body language of those two workers says "Have you ever ran a tractor before?" ;);)

Rain has been as widespread as I can ever remember. Texas even had snow this week and it isn't unusual for Texas not having snow all Winter.
When I saw that trailer I looked out the window to make sure mine was still where I parked it.

Concrete arrived today.
What's the plan for the old tile cement/grout? Is your contractor going to grind it off and blend the existing concrete to the new concrete?

That thin of a concrete pad would last about 2 hours here.
Not having a hard freeze must be nice.

From the way it's flaking off I'm thinking sweep more so than grind.

I'm amazed they backed an entire concrete truck up on your lawn for that small of a job.

I figured for sure they would have just used one of those small "concrete buggy's" that I see them using around here.

Either way, looks nice. (y)

They are grinding it all off. This guy did my garage in that epoxy and the plan is to do the same thing on the patio. It turned out so good in the garage I decided that I would do the same thing outside. I have been assured that the UV protector on top will keep it looking great for a long time...we'll see. The original plan was to do stamped concrete, but this was about $4,000.00 less. I love how he went up the wall about 4 inches. Now I can spray it out easier. These photos show the before and after where the tile was in the garage..also a slip and slide when the tile was wet/damp.

They are finishing the grinding today. Plan is to let the concrete sit for a while and come back next week to start the finish.

After all that rain I'm amazed they were able to get it in there, much less out to pavement again.
