After all that rain I'm amazed they were able to get it in there, much less out to pavement again.
I was a little concerned as well. But in the end he left a shallow track. Not bad at all.

I'm no "concrete guy" but I would make sure they 'saw cut' it pretty quick too.

I don't know the exact time frame, but around here they do it pretty fast.

They are grinding it all off. This guy did my garage in that epoxy and the plan is to do the same thing on the patio. It turned out so good in the garage I decided that I would do the same thing outside. I have been assured that the UV protector on top will keep it looking great for a long time...we'll see. The original plan was to do stamped concrete, but this was about $4,000.00 less. I love how he went up the wall about 4 inches. Now I can spray it out easier. These photos show the before and after where the tile was in the garage..also a slip and slide when the tile was wet/damp.

My mom had that done too, and I warned her not to cause I thought it was gonna be 'slicker than snot on a door knob" when it got wet.....

Man, how wrong was I!!!!!...... They put this "crazy ass grit" on/in it and man, that stuff is ridiculously aggressive/good.

I was worried she was gonna slip.....but after walking on it wet, now I'm worried that if she falls, she will have to go to the hospital for the abrasions she will get.

Yours looks nice. (y)

Everything apparently is ready for the final step of putting the epoxy coat down. I’m hoping it’s gonna turn out as good as I think it will.

Well, I appreciate the encouragement. I struggled long and hard about saving money. But at the end of the day they would’ve had to build up the stamped Concrete basically to the door and I didn’t want to do that.

Nice place and I really like the trick bay window. How will they handle expansion / control joints? It looks like there were some in the existing concrete, and I'd think there might be some possibility of movement where the existing and infill concrete meet.

Just a note for others contemplating tile on walking surfaces. When we built the new restrooms at church, we installed ceramic tile over the concrete. Tile has different ratings, one of which is the coefficient of friction that we had to consider.

You're not putting in any rebar, especially in the new addition?
They claim it is "fiber reinforced" They (different company) did the same thing in my pole barn and so far, so good.

'fiber reinforced' aka 'plastic toothpicks', zillions of them.
faster than buying/laying/tieing rebar, cheaper too.
Nice thing is when you go to drill holes you won't hit the rebar !!!
