Thanks. After about 4 years with the cams, I'm typically pleasantly surprised to find a gem or two in the footage. Expected it to get mundane...great captures drygulch
Beautiful colors.
I have a whole slew of Nikon film cameras down in the basement. Started with a Nikon F bought while I was in Vietnam. But once I discovered digital I felt I was "freed". No more limiting myself to the number of photos I take...is the roll 24 exposure or 36? Is the ASA of the film high enough to get a non-blurry photo? It's been a several months since I've taking photos and decided to load a roll into one of my film cameras. Felt nice to walk around and take photos again, I been missing it just needed a break.

For those reasons and because of the current cost of film and developing and printing, I would never go back to film. I have thousands upon thousands of Kodachrome slides I shot through the years. Kodachrome was the best you could buy - extremely fine grain and gorgeous colors. When I scan those slides now and compare the results to what my digital camera can do, the Kodachrome looks pretty bad.
Great footage! Owls are such amazing birds. You're in Georgia right? Thank goodness the video didn't end with that little guy getting chomped by an alligator or such.Barred owl bathing
Thanks, yeah I always love catching owls but usually get them just flying out of view...at night...Great footage! Owls are such amazing birds. You're in Georgia right? Thank goodness the video didn't end with that little guy getting chomped by an alligator or such.![]()
What a cool experience! Little guy was already sporting some nice talons...I was dating a woman a few years ago who spotted an owl in the road when driving home late one night. I was on the phone with her when she saw the owl. She stopped the car, got out, picked up the little guy and managed to get him into her car. At one point he was perched on the steering wheel looking straight ahead! She drove slowly for a few hundred yards with the windows down and eventually he flew out of a window and off into the night.
I think it was a Northern Saw-whet Owl which only grow to 7" to 8" in height. What a cool experience! Little guy was already sporting some nice talons...
