Oil pressure light on

While working with my B2650 the oil pressure light came on and off a few times intermittently and then shortly after the tractor just died. There's plenty of oil in it. Any thoughts

There may be a low oil pressure engine cut off sensor.

How did it die? Suddenly, or slowly, like it was under load (ie oil starvation). The two incidents may be unrelated. Get mechanical oil pressure gauge that you know is good and install it. You should get oil pressure just from cranking the engine, even if it doesn't start. If you observe pressure, the stall issue may be something else like fuel starvation.

I agree - don't jump to premature conclusions.

The oil pressure light may have flickered because the engine was faltering.

I would test the sensor, if faulty the machine will not start

The B2650 tractor will start and run just fine with the engine oil pressure switch unplugged. Its only function is to turn on or off the oil pressure light.

Yea I was a little baffled by this statement too.

Also, plugging into a faulty switch will not affect whether it will run.
There is no connection between the oil pressure and the fuel-shut-off solenoid.

Using WSM from kubotabooks, oil pressure switch ONLY goes to the 'panel'...to the 'oil' light so NO engine connection.
