Hi all
Have a L4850 tractor purchased as a project , i have got it running but cant get it to move, the selector in side of steering wheel is stiff and wont really budge and the gear selectir will only slide across in neutral and wont ho into a gear.
Is there a particular way to get the tractor to move, have pushed in clutch tried to move selector ect got seem to figure it out might be linkages?
First time with a kubuto had a few tractors this has me stumped

Kubota made an updated plastic insert to limit the handle. Not allowing it to shift between two gears! Your photo doesn’t show it.

Thankyou for that I have degreased the top of gear shift area and will be removing the plate to see if linkages are bound up will take photos , I don’t get to work on it everyday as work away but will hopefully have this remove today

I have no idea what type of transmission that tractor has but if it has manual transmission there may be shift forks that are out of place or the transmission may be in two gears at the same time.

You may have to take the transmission top cover off to see what is wrong.

Do you 100% understand how to get the tractor’s lever’s positioned so the tractor is supposed to move? Do you have a manual to follow?
