Hi,

Seal number 6 below (37650-44580) is leaking on my L245DT and the dealer says that the part is discontinued.
I have the brass bushing that are discontinued too, but these ones I can have them made.
Is there anywhere else that I can look to find this part?

Regards,

007kubotaguy may be your saviour.
First, he is often parting out older L's and second he know these machines.
Contact him using the envelope symbol at top right of most forum pages
Have you taken the seal to a bearing shop in your area. These people can often match bearings and seals.

I would not think number six is your problem. I would say number 19 in my picture is your issue. Pinion seal. Part number 09500-35528.
Hi! New member from Finland here.

I think my L245DT has developed a leak from that seal nr 19. Is it easy to change?

This is my first tractor so I'm just starting to learn.

Where can I get detailed workshop manual?

Thanks! 😊

Kubotabooks.com has all the manuals.
And yes I think it's an easy seal to change.

Do I need to remove the nut nr 13 to get the seal out?
View attachment 145509
If I remember correctly the seals inner surface is larger than the nut so you should be able to remove it without removing the nut.
See if the seal race (smooth part that it rides on #11) is larger than the nut.

How do parts 19, 6 etc come off?
Do they come off with the pipe protecting the propeller shaft?
I think those need to be removed so I replace the seal?

Your better off leaving them in the Front axle bracket and dropping the axle to get to the seal on the pinion:

You can see all those parts in this ebay listing.

This is what you remove to pull the axle (yellow):
All the parts in the back (orange) will stay in the bracket, above and below.

(yellow) is where the front plate above attaches.
(orange) hidden under the bottom back is where all the orange parts above.

I have a front lifter attached under the tractor and front pto shaft. I have to work outside under the tractor so i was hoping i could change the seal without dropping the front axle. Is there any chance without dropping the axle?

The seal (#6) that is in the back case is 100% obsolete.
You can very easily damage that seal trying to remove it.
That's why it's better to drop the axle to get to the inner seal.

If you don't want to drop the axle:
You will need to somehow pull that seal (#6 , #13, and # 14) out the back, then you will not need or be able to remove #19 or #21, they are pressed into the case.
I still can not tell you if you will be able to remove the inner seal, it's going to hard to get to it with it in so deep inside the case.

Working with a frame under and around it is going to be a real workout, I hope your a really small person!

The part number gives the seal size. Any auto parts store can match it. Ie 35 is I’d. 52 is outer diameter 8 is thickness all metric measurements. Almost all part numbers that start with a 0 are standard parts.

Where did you read that the part number is the seal size?

I'm thinking there is a serious flaw in your info or logic.

I have a seal in my mid pto, 09502-04710, and that seal is certainly not 4mm ID, 71mm OD, and 0 mm thick.

I will say I'll be happy to be proven wrong. 😉

Ok. I can see your point. But move the decibel one place. 20 mm by 47 by 10 mm. As that is six digits !!!! You should say I am correct.

I will see if I can verify your claims that the part number is the seal size, I have never heard this.

Yes almost all part #s that have 0 as the first digit are std. ie last 5 numbers of a bolt are dia. And length. A # 6203 bearing a standard bearing number. Would be 08101-06203. And 08121-06203 is sealed one side. Also 08141-06203 is seal

Sealed both sides. Ktc is changing numbers now to eliminate any competition or price comparisons.
