Thanks @Kennyd4110 - I was going to try to find the factory hook for my QH, but you answered it already.

Compared to what I had - Kenny's hook was a great improvement.

You can sort of see how close the back of the hook slot is to the upright supports that hold it. The uprights and the bolts that hold the hook are what causes the interference issues, and what our hook solves.

What your experiencing is typically. Without the check valves it will leak down. The side link might be binding up the toplink enough so you don't see the bleed down or it's just that the toplink valve doesn't leak down that much. My toplink leaks down. You can add the check valves yourself if the leak down is an issue. For me it's not and I only bought the Land Pride cylinder because it was a guarantee fit. I'm getting lazy in my old age.

I guess my point is that not having the check valves doesn't mean you will damage your hydraulic system.

Now if you're bouncing along with a full bucket of material on the front end loader or an implement on the three point hitch, you have a change of doing damage to the tractor with or without the check valves. The damage most likely will be structural, like bent loader or three point arms.

For me slow and steady wins the race.

I’m also in the camp of slow and steady for the win. But if you have an issue with a hydraulically supported load combined with uneven terrain causing unacceptable bounce, a check valve isn’t the answer. Accumulators are made to address that exact issue. Many large commercial loaders include them as standard equipment. Having the ability to valve it in or out of the circuit is useful if using forks or something similar where precision is required regardless the load on the hydraulic circuit. For something like that, the accumulator can be a bit irritating.

When I was transporting logs out of the woods with the grapple on my L, I considered getting one for the loader boom circuit but when I got the skidding winch it changed my process such that the accumulator was a solution in search of a problem for my purposes.

Interestingly, the dimension from the rear face of the QH frame to the center of the pin location in the hook is one inch longer for the QH15 than it is for the QH10, i.e. 2-3/4" and 1-3/4" respectively. Both work with all of my implements.

Thanks for the information. I see you have the 12mm pins I need to replace the bolts. I'm going to order a set. Just have to check the length to be sure they fit mine.

Well couldn't wait any longer to try it and it was over 50 degrees so I took the blower off. It's quick hitch compatible so will go right back on if we get a big one. Hitch is very nice but after measuring my trailer mover, 6 ft rake, sickle bar,and box blade are too narrow to use with it. Guess I'm eventually going shopping . Tossed on my pallet forks and they fit good but had to move the hook up. Measured the width with the screws removed and it's 2 inches (50.8mm) so probably going to make some pins to replace the bolts so I can put some UHMW washers under them and just use standard hitch pins with the spring loop for finger access.

One thing I noticed is that the top slot is really big for a cat1 pin. I slipped a cat 2 bushing on the pin and it's still oversized. Guess that's to make it easy for alignment.

At this point, just the forks and 30 cu ft dump box fit it. I'll probably stretch the rake hitch and replace the box blade along with replacing the sickle bar with a flail mower. Is it worth it? I think so but not a simple universal answer for those of us that bought implements 25 years ago.

One thing I noticed is that the top slot is really big for a cat1 pin. I slipped a cat 2 bushing on the pin and it's still oversized. Guess that's to make it easy for alignment.

The top hook is intended for an 1-1/4" CAT 3 pin. Notice the CAT 3 bushing on the top pin of my Land Pride SB1574 snow blower. Also, the bottom 1-1/4" pin on the Land Pride RCR1884 rotary cutter that drops into the top hook of the QH.

I definitely will have to make some cat 1 to cat 3 bushings or machine a smaller hook. What a crappy design. They say no bushings required with this one .

Yeah, it's a messed up world. My Everything Attachments box blade and land leveler have CAT 2 pins (1in) for the hook when using a QH. I use them in combination with a QH but never bothered to change out the bushing for a CAT 3 for the top hook.

Another job to add to the list. CAT 2 to CAT 3 bushings.

How narrow are your other implements? I added these to some of my stuff as needed and they worked out great to give the extra width and diameter needed with no further modification. I know the anti-quick hitch police will say that's an extra cost yada yada just get off of the tractor and hook it up. To me its the cost of efficiency, my time is worth something even when doing stuff for myself, if this speeds me up,(which it does) I'm all for it!

Most are about 3 inches. I'm thinking about replacing some and modifying others. Everything was sized for my old Deere or BX but the new tractor is slightly larger so I might as well upgrade. Everything from now on definitely will be quick hitch compatible. Mine has cat 1 lower pockets so adapters won't work but welded on 1 1/2" spacers with long thread cat 1 bottom pins Most likely will.

I assumed that your attachments were all cat 1 compliant. Now I feel bad.

You should just need to add a cat 2-3 bushing to take out slop if you so desire. I generally don't on most of my attachments.

For the really odd ball, you can use something like this:
