Actually it will not work!
The return and the supply will both get the same pressure as they are both in the tank!

Simply remove the small vent line (YELLOW) off of the jet start valve (RED) on the side of the injection pump and crank if fuel comes out then the injection pump has fuel to it.

It will work! (at least on my L185). IF you open the bleeder valve at the pump. That ”disconnects” the pressure loop that you point out.

I had not thought about that double ended pressure loop though. Thank you for mentioning it.

Yes on your L185 it works because that bleeder vents to the open air, where the bleeder on newer tractors like this bleed back to the tank.

tried that many times. Then called the dealer. it should work, but it does not.
That's odd. I have changed the fuel filter on probably 40+ of the 60-series tractors and have never had a problem.

I'm pretty sure you are under exaggerating how my fuel filters you've messed with! 😜
I couldn't even guess at the number of filters I've messed with and I'm nowhere near the tech you are!

Three of us easily fill a 55-gallon barrel in less than 2 weeks, oil and spin on fuel filters.

Prevents trying to compress liquids and cracking the block or some other such damage. Not sure if that would apply to your L. JM2C

I was kinda thinking the same thing.

I thought you were supposed to make sure there was no "hydro-lock" before trying to crank it.

Glad the OP was OK though......

Thanks for all of the help guys. Finally got some time to mess with the old girl last night. I pulled that fuel tube off of the valve. Broke it off to be more accurate. Dont know if it was clogged or what. But after I pulled it off and opened the valve, it tried to start after about 5 seconds of cranking. Eventually she caught. Anybody by chance know what the size is of that fuel tube? I was gonna bring it with me to get a piece since I'm on the road all day, but I forgot to bring it with me
