I emailed Summit yesterday about this and asked what they recommended, and whether their valve could run the BH continuously without damage if I used the rear remotes to run the BH and just got their response.

"I am unsure how you would accomplish this with the current wiring harness that you have but the valve is capable of continuous flow without damage. You would need a switch that will constantly actuate the spool as your current switch is only when you are pressing the button."

Maybe it would be safest to use the rear remotes and put a rocker switch between my valve and the battery, bypassing the momentary switch?

I do still wonder if it will really be safe to run for hours with the valve solenoid actuated

Just more heat znd restricted flow.

Your biggest problem is reimforcing the 3pt so you dont rip the tractor apart with digging forces.

Roger that. I have read a bit about that and will be careful using it. This wont be something I use daily, just few things here and there, thats why I couldnt justify the cost of a BH77.
I will look at it and see if I can fix the 3pt mechanically. Will take some thinking

Finally got up to the property and able to actaully look at the tractor.

Once again, forgive my ignorance. I have rear remote and 3rd function. As it sits right now, the block under the right side step has the PB hose going to the middle hose in the picture. The right hose goes to the PB on the loader valve. Above the middle hose on the top side of the valve manifold, there is a plugged port stamped P. Above the right hose the plugged port is stamped T.

So I can put a quick connect between the middle hose and the block ( comes from PB under step ) and hook up the backhoe? Then hook it back up when not using backhoe? The feed side is the hose side?

Thats not clear to me. Where is your third function valve connected? Who installed the 3rd function and the Summit rear remotes? Where is that third hose going? In the picture it looks like the "third hose" is actually two hoses. Is that going to the third function outlets on the loader?

I am going to ignore that for now but I think we need some clarifications.

Based on what you have described the feed to the Summit valve assembly is the hose coming from the PB port on the loader valve.

The hose from the Summit manifold to the upper left port under the step is the Summit PB return to the tractor. Put your BH quick connect on the Summit PB port.

The PB port on the Summit remote is BH supply and the hose going to top left port under step is BH return.

Yes sir, the 2 hoses on the left that are one in front of the other ( almost look like one ) go to the 3rd function.

I couldn't see the stamping last night, but can see the P and T on the bottom sides where the hoses go in. They match the plugged port on the top side ( unused ports )

So, the hose that comes from top left port under the step goes to the bottom side of the Summit Manifold port marked P. ( middle hose in picture )

The right hose that is in port T of the summit manifold goes to the PB port in the loader valve

That's the thing that is so confusing to me, both hoses are hooked to a port called PB. One goes to PB under step, one goes to PB on loader valve.

You are confused because "power beyond" is the most missused term in tractor hydraulics. What we are really talking about is the neutral circuit which is the flow path when ALL spools are in neuitrsl

Two comments:

  1. Your plumbing works but is backwards. The PB port (neutral out) on the loader valve should go to the P port (neutral in) on the manifold. The T port on the manifold (neutral out) should go to the top left port (neutral in) under the step.
  2. You really have two rear remotes one of which is being used for a loader third function. Describing your system as a third function and a remote implies another valve up front. Yes its semantics but it had me scratching my head.
