Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Well mine is still pouring gas in the crankcase and even still under warranty Kubota is ignoring it. I have emails from others with similar problems and am thinking there may be major design issues with the Subaru engine Kubota is trying to hide. Just got an email from a guy saying a replacement...

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

This is a Kubota, not cheap Mule and sold as a worksite model that won't see a lot of wide open throttle. I have never had a problem like this with a piece of machinery and definitely thought Kubota would state something like not for homestead use in the sales literature if that is the case...

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Just got it back today (10 weeks). Kubota finally had the oil samples evaluated and is concerned about the amount of fuel in the crankcase oil. Not concerned about all the water that is normal with them though. They replaced the injectors and want me to run it another 10 hours than get another...

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

I should have been suspicious when all the videos I could find about it were made or controlled by Kubota and also free vehicles they gave out for videos. Another week and still nothing. Going to be 2 months in the shop soon and no resolution.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

I'm sorry I am talking about the cam position sensor they told me was just added that mine doesn't have. Has to have some type of crankshaft trigger.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

I was told mine doesn't have a camshaft sensor. The new one the dealer just got has one the mechanic told me.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

At this point it does sound like a pandemic built lemon that Kubota doesn't want to put parts in. Surprised Kubota isn't working with my dealer to make it right. It has been in the shop over 6 weeks now so looks like it qualifies for the NY farm equipment lemon law. I have so much in it that I...

Just like Kubota handles the warranty.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Well another week gone by and nothing new. Kubota knows there is a problem, dealership knows there is a problem and Kubota doesn't know how to fix it. What a mistake buying a Sidekick and trusting Kubota. Probably would have had better service from some Chinese off brand at half the price.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Funny thing is you can smell the unburnt fuel in the exhaust of mine all the time, not just when starting cold. I doubt it would pass an emissions test. The mechanic mentioned it could be a bad ecu but Kubota won't approve the almost $2k replacement. Maybe I'll check with the epa to see if...

    Sickle Bar on my BX

When I was looking, all the old ones were too big and heavy for a BX. Should have bought it the year before when it was $1000.00 less. Good luck finding one or a flail.

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

Sounds like you got a good one back when Subaru was making the engines if you got 400 hours with no problems. Sounds like midyear 2023 models are different and I can't find a explanation why. Surprised the mechanic working on mine. I definitely would avoid this machine after my experience and...

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

I just spoke to the mechanic working on mine and he said they just got a 2023 in and it's a whole different engine. Different intake manifold, different injectors, completely redesigned intake plus they added a cam sensor and different ecu. Guess they know there's a problem and redesigned...

Sidekick RTV-XG850 backfiring / loss of power

So today's update after over a month in the shop is Don't waste your money on a Sidekick. They were told to replace the injectors for the gas in oil problem and checked the head gaskets along with oil change. The dealer took it to their farm and ran it another 5 hours hard as Kubota said (has...

    Sickle Bar on my BX

That is what this is really for. Especially if you're cutting for hay. Lower hp draw then a flail also, but at over $5k with tax it was quite a bit more then a flail.

    Sickle Bar on my BX

It is very handy if you have areas that are wet and hard to access with a mower. Just perfect size for a BX

WHAT OIL FOR Z700 TRANS OTHER THAN KUBOTA TRANS OIL ??

Yes HT 1000 is the specified oil along with the filter changes. First change at 250 hours. I was told it has special additives for the Parker drives. I know nothing about the specs and only use what is recommended in the equipment I buy and only post what is recommended online when someone asks.

WHAT OIL FOR Z700 TRANS OTHER THAN KUBOTA TRANS OIL ??

My Z726 and I think all 700 series have the Parker HTG14 transmissions and they require Parker OEM oil for the best life and warranty coverage I was told by my dealership. Put anything else in them and it could cost you over 3k a side if there are problems. Good oil is a cheap price to pay with...

WHAT OIL FOR Z700 TRANS OTHER THAN KUBOTA TRANS OIL ??

My Z726 drives call for the Parker oil that is like 30 bucks a quart. Dealer said for warranty it should be used at the required drain intervals. It is going to be expensive with a couple gallons a side.

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

I have gone as far as just putting a rope on the trailer brake safety switch cable and pulling that out locking the brakes in an oh Sxxx situation. I use old 25 pound lifting steel weight plates that slide on a 1 inch bar welded in a 2 x 2 receiver hitch bar. Can stack up to 12 for 300 pounds...
