Quick Hitch advice please

Hi, I have just joined the forum after taking delivery of my new B2601. I am new to this world and I am trying to figure out whether to buy the Pats quick hitch system or the Land Pride or Speeco E-hitch.
Every time I try and figure out what is best I end up going round in circles! I need to move on this fairly quickly and make a buying decision.
Any advice and guidance would be appreciated.

Buy the LandPride. Quality at a reasonable price and it will work with your tractor. I have never purchased a LandPride item that didn't live up to the quality that I expected of it. You won't regret or question your decision to purchase a quality product. You might find a lower price on a lesser-quality item, but remember you get what you pay for.

Are you from New Brunswick Canada or New Brunswick New Jersey? It does make a difference because sometimes what is available in the States isn't available in Canada and vice versa.

I have a post detailing the differences, but since you're looking for a quick answer:

LandPride QH is the most convenient if all your attachments work with it.

Pat's is preferred if you have any attachments that were made before the QH "standard" was "kind of" settled on and/or attachments that fall outside the "standard" LandPride is using. Pat's allows you to snag that "available for a steal" used implement you've been holding off on for years due to purchase price.

I know that some here really like the Pats system, but I still have my doubts that it's better than a Land Pride or similar Quick Hitch when it comes to hooking up to QH compatible implements, particularly if you have an hydraulic top link and hydraulic lifting rod i.e. top-n-tilt. The ability to move (angle) the QH around as a unit and get connected to the implement without getting off the tractor is a real benefit.

I started out with a QH05 on a BX25D and then QH10 and QH15 on the MX and M. I think I prefer the QH10 to the QH15 since the adjustable hook on the 15 seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

most CAT1 quick hitches are NOT CAT1 on the implement side, they're CAT2 so you need adapters,bushings,increasers to use your CAT1 implements with them.

The adjustable hook, couldn't that be modified to accept "pins" to make the adjustment quick and easy?

My QH is an older John Deere solid hook.

most CAT1 quick hitches are NOT CAT1 on the implement side, they're CAT2 so you need adapters,bushings,increasers to use your CAT1 implements with them.

That's the case with my QH, all my attachments have the bushings.

I could (should) modify that.

Which attachments do you plan on buying or using? Do you know the width and orientation of the pins? Grab a diagram of the QH dimensions and compare that to your implements.

I am not sure your situation but another options might be putting your stuff on dollys…that makes it pretty easy to hook up but need flat surface. Or do you have telescoping lower arms?

From your personal info I see you have a WC68…I have one that I use with my B and Pats Easy change…it works just fine. I’d recommend you decide QH or pats before trimming PTO shaft. That is the heaviest item I have on my 3pt and I got a pats just in case I ever needed to take it off in the woods. I don’t think that would be fun to hook up off flat concrete with a QH.

Anyway, depending on what all hooking up and the width of the pins is going to decide which makes sense. YMMV.

My QH is an older John Deere solid hook.

It came with pins for the hook, but I matched the location of the hook to the QH10 and haven't changed it since. Perhaps Land Pride figured that it'd be more universal. I would have bought another QH10 but the QH15 was a fair bit cheaper at the dealer where I bought the M6060.

The other issue that I ran into and why I probably should have paid more for another QH10 is the difference in the implement interface between the two. The QH10 doesn't need bushings for any of the implements I have whereas the QH15 needs 7/8" to 1-7/16" bushings on the implement for the bottom connections.

My princess auto hitch needed the adapters. But I bent some 1/4x1 flat bar into "U"s and welded them into the lower hooks. So now I can just use the standard cat 1 pins.
My hitch also came with an adapter ( kind of Y shaped) so I can connect the top link pin to the quick hitch. On equip that is not meant to connect.
I posted pictures in another thread a few months ago.

I have a B2601 and wrote an earlier post about Pat's Quick Hitch. I bought a unit and love it. I use it with older implements that do not fit the quick hitch measurements as well as a newer land Pride rotary cutter.
After initial adjustments, Pat's system works great for me. Be sure and buy the accessory stabilizer bar. It makes everything work better.
I am NOT knocking Land Pride, I just don't have experience with their quick Hitch.

The industry standard for Cat 1 lower hitch spacing is 28 in., and both the QH10 and QH15 comply with that standard. The standard for Cat 1 lift arm pin diameter is 7/8" so I still don't know why Land Pride decided to use a Cat 3 (1-7/16" pin diameter) on the QH15. What implement does Land Pride or Kubota make that uses Cat 1 lower hitch spacing but with Cat 3 pins? Nothing!

I have an SB1574 snow blower, RCR1884 rotary cutter, EA box blade, EA land leveler, Fimco sprayer, Herd seeder and King Kutter trailer reciever that are QH compatible. The snow blower, rotary cutter, and EA implements have a Cat 2 option which is only usable without the QH on the tractor.

I do regret buying the QH15 rather than another QH10 since I have to mess about with all kinds of bushing combinations to get it to work well with various implements. I have to deal with Cat 1 to Cat 2, and Cat 2 to Cat 3 bushings.

After looking at Land Pride's website and reviewing the specs for the various Quick Hitches, it looks like the QH16 is what the QH15 should have been. Basically a QH10 but with an adjustable top hook. The QH15 just doesn't make any sense to me but I'm certainly open to any thoughts on what Land Pride/Kubota was thinking.

This thread has reminded me to investigate the possibility of converting the Cat 3 lower hooks on the QH15 to Cat 1. I'd just need to cut a Cat 1 to Cat 3 bushing in half and weld each half into the bottom of the hook. That would be worth doing for sure.

So after some investigation, it wouldn't be hard to convert a QH15 to a QH16. Here's a Cat 1 to Cat 3 bushing sitting in the hook. I would need to cut the bushing in half along the axis of the bore, weld it in place, then add some material to the lock so that it limits upward movement of a Cat 1 7/8" pin. This would be much cheaper than buying a QH16.
