Hello. I'm considering selling my Kubota but not sure at what price to list it. It's great condition, garage kept and only has about 53 hrs. It comes with the loader and backhoe. I'm located in Pennsylvania. Any recommendations?

Thank you!

With how they hold value, I'd start close to what you paid for it two years ago and see what offers you get.

Look at www.tractorhouse.com to see what they are being listed for around the country. That will help give you a sense of a starting point for pricing.

Where are you in Pa,,,, Reason Im asking is one area is hot for one type of tractor and not so much on another. Check the Iwanta or CL, or ask your dealer what a fair asking price is ,sometimes the dealer will take one in on consignment.

I am in Pittsburgh and there are a few similarly equipped low hour units being offered within a 250 mile radius on Facebook Marketplace. Thats your competition. If you are looking to sell it sooner rather than later I would ask $23,500.

Ty but I'm wondering if there's a disconnect b/c that amount is very low. Are you sure you're looking at B2601 with loader and backhoe? Messicks recommended starting private sale price of $32,900. Ty

Look them up yourself on Facebook. The fact that they are being offered and still available at $25,000 tells the story. Consumer credit particularly in the much watched auto loan sector continues to deteriorate. Dollar General and other "lower end" retailers earnings and stock prices are also fairing poorly. You can always ask $32,900 but why would someone not buy the one(s) now being offered for $25,000? Also, those offering prices are not the same as selling prices. Selling prices are on average lower yet. Bankers always want to know the worst case when calculating loan to value ratios. Look up completed listing for Kubota tractors on eBay for more insight on pricing. My guesstimate is based on someone looking to sell quickly. Messicks has several key advantages with regards to setting prices. They may provide financing, offer a guarantee, offer delivery and most importantly people come to them looking for tractors due to their excellent reputation. They are in the flow so to speak. I would rather deal with Messicks than rent a trailer ,drive to someones house that I don't know , perhaps in a sketchy remote setting and transact a $25,000 purchase. Maybe the tractor was stolen, maybe the person is deranged and dangerous. What Messicks can get for a tractor is not always the same as what you or I can get. What did Messicks offer you for your tractor?

I went to www.kubotausa.com and built a new B2601 with FEL and BH. The MSRP was $32,900. Personally, the most I'd pay is 80% of new, which comes out to $26,300. What did you pay for it?

well Kubota's BX are priced between about $10,000 and $15,000. L series tractors start at $15,000 and go up to $45,000. M series tractors are priced between $35,000 and $65,000. I think you can always find a few buyers for your machine and see who can offer the best price:ROFLMAO:.

Real world decisions in any asset class are based on present pricing and not what one paid for it 2 years ago. Pretend you are looking for a similarly equipped b2601 today would it matter what it cost 2 years ago? Stocks, bonds ,real estate and even tractors values are readily discernible. Bankers refer to this as "marking to market" , a foundational economic concept . It is possible that someone would pay whatever you asked for it but not likely. So the waiting begins. Bankers refer to this as the "extend and pretend" period. If one is not in a hurry patience IS helpful providing used pricing does not deteriorate further. Good luck.

The internet has squeezed a lot of juice out of profit margins by promoting what's termed "price discovery" . Before Facebook I would not have had any idea that low hour b2601 tractors with loaders and backhoes were being offered not far from me for $25,000. It took about a minute to find them. The notion that you can always find a few willing buyers at above market prices is becoming increasingly difficult to make.

Wow! A lot of good information here from apparently very smart people! I did some morning researching and consolidated the results. All of these are some distance from me. What seems like a reasonable starting asking price? I'm willing to wait a bit...

Also, here are the pictures I took yesterday: Google Photos

I'm NOT impressed with Facebook Marketplace for finding 99.44% of the stuff I'm interested in. Just searched 'Kubota BX23S'. Of the 55 results(just 1st page) ,only SEVEN were BX23s machines. A few sponser ads(ok...I suppose...but NOT related...) 17 green machines, 9 cars/pickups, some misc decks ,2-3 yellow machines, and a SEARS garden tractor

Post 13 reveals that you have a BH thumb and, I assume, front forks that are included. These increase the value somewhat to the right buyer.

Nice looking rig.

You get what you pay for. Still much better than what was available even 5 years ago.

With 55 hours, I would start at 90% of new, then drop by 10% if necessary.
Thank you. Do you think I should do 90% of the base price or 90% of the total price that I paid with tax? The price I put on the spreadsheet was actual price not the out the door price

I wouldn’t include tax
