Hello, its the cabin model, i have just gave it a good dousing of WD40 its difficult to see below the area where the gear select isThe shifting is done with cables and external linkages depending upon model.
See attached pages.
Not likely internal transmission stuff.

it has now but doesn't look like its been done in a whileWelcome to OTT
Has shift linkage under operator station been lubricated recently?
how do i access this area , its a cabin modelSounds like a broken or disconnected shift-fork.
Range shift is fine, i an struggling trying to locate linkage for main gears, i have the front plastic off but the selector shaft goes below the floor, any pictures on where to check or lubricate would helpConcerning my M7040 if Hi-lo shift linkage isn't frequently lubricated it is very difficult to shift between ranges'.
I have got a manual but i am not sure where it gives info on fork shifter location or accessThis is not going to be a lubrication problem, it’s going to be a fork/shifter problem which will be addressed with a WSM.
Look into the section on “Travelling System”. I posted a pic above which refers to the same system on my M4700. The shifter fork will be directly actuated by your gear-shift-selector lever. See item 3 in the second pic.I have got a manual but i am not sure where it gives info on fork shifter location or access
