Final update to this particular issue hopefully.
Put it outside because it was going to be cold and attempted to start it today when it was 19° and I gave it 10 seconds of preheat and then cranked it about 15 seconds and it fired up which is not as fast as I'd like but certainly manageable. So we'll call the cold start problem fixed. It took a new key switch and one new glow plug and new larger power wires for the key switch and glow plug to eliminate all of the original connectors and wires to resolve the issue.
However, a new problem arose when I tried to move the tractor back inside, so I'll start a new thread for that one.
