Look at your numbers....

Drained H20 and put in 50/50 mix (bet there was still a little water in the system though)

50/50 mix, after mow:
Top hose = 158 deg
Btm hose = 197 deg

Block = 190 deg

50/50 mix, after 5 mins idle
Top hose = 140 deg
Btm hose = 95 deg
Block = 168 deg

please tell me that the TOP HOSE and the BOTTOM hose are reversed after mow ???????? :D:DOtherwise you are in high cotton!!!!

The mixture did raise the temps by almost 30 degrees - and thus the engine is running in it's range. The radiator guy must have done a great job too.

you are getting a 40+ degree drop through it :):):)

Ooops! Yes, those should be reversed. Good catch, thanks.

I haven't had a radiator serviced before, so I don't have anything to compare with, but the thing came out looking brand new!

If you don't mind me being nosy ------what it cost ???? Cause sometimes a new radiator for a older Kubota can get to $500 quick!

Nope, no problem. It was $80 bucks, and that's in Wichita, KS. Guess there is only one radiator shop left in town that will service them here anymore.

Before I went there, I did stop down at my local Kubota dealer and check with their parts dept., just to see what a brand new one cost (in case mine just happened to be toast). Can't get them new anymore for an L185. They sent me out to this place to have my old one serviced.

It seems that $80 was some of the best money spent!!! I wish I could find a local shop that would do it that cheap. Glad you are up and "coooooling!":D:)
