KRA Reverse Awareness Switch Will Not Engage

Recently I replaced the broken seat suspension (seat switch works perfectly) on my G2460G
and the following started:

When I try to activate the KRA switch it does not work, holding it down will make it
blink but engine will die attempting to reverse when PTO engaged.

I removed the KRA switch and applied contact cleaner, still no results.

Question for gurus is this a switch failure or do we have a deeper issue, also
is the onset of the problem pure coincidence with the other repair?

Anticipated thanks y'all.

I hate KRA. Mine has been disabled so long I forget the details. IIRC that switch latches when depressed. Is your switch latching? New switch is $50.

Always thought, gee, if backing up with mower engaged is 'bad' then WHY do they add all the 'junk' to ALLOW you to mow in reverse ???
Seems to me someone's made a LOT of money redesigning mowers for this 'feature'.......

On one rider it was as simple as shorting 2 wires, leaving other 2 open to bypass the 'silly system'.

Feels more like an actuator as there is no click, that is why I am worried it might be some hidden relay behind it. The switch blinks when KRA aactivated, but now only blinks when held down without doing anything. During normal use there was no clicking.

Here are the electrical components and diagram for the tractor. I am starting to wonder if 040 parts may be failing, the PTO safety switches I think.

The 'mow in reverse bypass' switches I've seen consist of a momentary push button, a relay and a small PCB with 'stuff',including an LED. Usually pretty simple and reliable. Your machine has to have some form of 'forward or reverse' switch to tell the bypass which way you're going, seems to work. Would have to see the wiring diagram to figure out HOW the silly thing is wired in.
It may be that it's not seeing a signal from some OTHER switch........sigh.

I just cheked mine and it does not latch.

Half-ass but effective solution - remove the fuse under the seat. It will disable all safety switches as well as the stop solenoid. I have found opening the hood to manually turn it off less trouble than dealing with the others.

The WSM (aka Service manual) would stop all this guess work, as it will have the testing for the system laid out.

Time to mentally prepare for the weekend diagnostic job. PTO switch, KRA system switch, fuse, harness, or system unit could all be culprits according to the WSM, I am starting to understand the KRA hate on tractor forums.
