Thank you,, Fortunately the lines are high pressure lines and just been pigged so I dont think they will close them down anytime soon, but you never know ;)

the extra charges that make utilities the bill more than what you actually use...

thats usually a CO-OP fee... where the outfit you are using buys the stuff from someone else & then sells it to you as a "service"..

was stuck on an electric company like that for 30 years. so when we moved? made sure that wasnt the case at our new location.

always something to check when you buy a home.

Strangely enough, the co-ops in Alabama typically buy from Southern Company, and sell the power cheaper than Alabama Power does to residential customers. Figure that one out. Then again, most Co-Ops have a membership fee, like the one I was on in Kentucky. Power was still very cheap up there, but mostly because nearly all of Western KY is covered by TVA selling to co-ops. The Co-Ops also tend to spend a little more time on line and ROW maintenance than the big boys do. Makes absolutely no sense.
