Hi,
I have a Kubota G21LD, which is not picking up the grass, it leaves clumps of grass behind.
When I mow heavier grass (a few inches, nothing crazy), the chute from the deck clogs.
The PTO belts are worn a bit and I think there’s a plate missing between the chute and the plate duct, see image attached. Will replacing the PTO belts solve the issue or is there other things I need to eliminate?

Welcome to OTT!

Couldn't find a detailed parts diagram. Hard to tell from your picture if the discharge plate (part #4) is missing or not (got the diagram below from the WSM).

If you have the "Pro" deck check the 25mm slit and air intake on the top of the deck to make sure you're getting proper air flow. Looks like the grass isn't being discharged from the mower deck correctly.

Based on my cheap MTD experience
* Run the engine/PTO at full rpm
* Run high lift type blades. You need maximum air flow. Anything else that reduces airflow harms performance.
* Control your travel speed so that the blades don't appreciably slow, due either to engine load or belt slippage. So, yes, belt or sheave condition could contribute to the problem.
* If you're cutting a lot of grass or heavy grass, you may have to slow your travel speed to avoid overloading the chute system. This is a kind of pneumatic conveyor so more air flow is beneficial, but it still has limits.
Hope this helps.
