I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and wisdom. I got the 3pt set up correctly and ordered the correct HD top link bracket from Kubota (ouch$$). Used the hoe to dig a trench with ease.
Congratulations!

But we must have pictures. Lots and lots of pictures! ;-)

Glad to hear you got it working. Frankly im somewhat surprised it turned out well because I have that hoe on a larger B8200 with proper subframe, and i also have had B6100s and B7100s with and without front loader..

Even WITH the front end loader, and KNOWING that the hoe weighs 1000lbs and having it on the end of the 3pt arms puts it FURTHER back then what it is on my B8200.. Im kinda surprised the front end isn't super light when driving that 7100. The weight and the placement seem like enough that the tractor would be balanced on the back wheels and if you extended the hoe without the outriggers down it would probably lift the front end of the tractor off the ground.

So color me pleasantly surprised that it's working out!!

Its not ideal but works surprisingly well. I am also not doing any loader work when I have the backhoe connected. I load the front bucket a bit for counterweight and that takes care of it being light in the front for moving around purposes.

Nice! I see you obtained or fabricated a nice HD top link bracket. Good job.
