Next dog I get I hope to name Josey (as in Josey Wales)? Or maybe Jasper?

ButIf if it craps himself or trips on stairs or gets lost easy I’ll probably go with JoeJoe.

Yours sure is a good looking pup? Looks like he might have some personality. Will it be family dog and or hunting dog or other? Good luck

Likely just a companion. Pheasants are in short supply here and have been for years unfortunately.

Have to resort to just some fun fetching and frisbee exercise.

maybe "Dyson" or "Hoover" because he sucks up food like an industrial vacuum. 😁

Just couldn't take it anymore being "dogless".

Brought this guy home today and he's already been fetching. Won't ever replace my "Dakota" but I'm looking forward to lots of fun with this guy...decided to try a Fox Red this time.

My wife (is in Sitka Alaska right now) wants to call him "Fire Crotch". lol

What a gorgeous pup! I've never heard of a Red Fox Labrador Retriever.

How about calling him River, particularly if he likes water.

RETRIEVER

Picking names can be a struggle, but whatever you pick, he'll grow into it and there will come a time when you can't imagine him having any other name.

My friend's 15 year Golden Retriever passed away last week and she was a lovely dog. Her name was Benelli and he's having a hard time with her loss. He has two other dogs but she was special.

How about writing each of those names on tennis balls, then hurling them all as far as you can and see which one he brings back? 😂 I just laughed to myself at the idea of you taking a ball out of his mouth and then saying "ok, best of three!".

I like Benelli too. Previous yellow was Remington, and Sig was on the list for this one too. Im starting to think I should call him "Leave it". :)

How about Colt?

I have a Colt Python that I bought new in 1992/93 and there's something special about the Colt name. Quite possibly the most iconic revolver name in the world.

@GrumpyFarmer mentioned "The Outlaw Josey Wales" which is my all-time favorite movie and one that I've watched 20 times or more. But I much prefer the Remington 1858 revolvers that are featured in "Pale Rider". Those open top Colt Walker revolvers just don't work for me.

I had Colt on the dog name list too (along with Sig and a previous dog named Remington)

...Recently picked up a Colt competition SS in 9mm. sweet shooter.

Picked up the wife from the airport this am (she's been in Sitka AK for the last 2 weeks) and she wants it to be Cody. So, Cody it is. I figured its easy for me to remember and rolls off my tongue since I called may last one (Dakota) Cody sometimes as well.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Looking forward to spending time with this new pup.

Hims a good rooster.

Buffalo gnats are tearing his comb up right now. Gotta step outside every so often and get them off of him.
