These are always the saddest posts, I'm sorry dirtydeed. :( Nothing I can offer other than: the memories Dakota gave you will always stay, and time helps. 12 years is a great life for most dogs. But the loss of a friend still hurts.

Saw momma drive by while we were out for a walk. He knew she was leaving. When she passes going home, it's an all out sprint to get there. It's like he was waiting for her to come back. View attachment 117715
I have a similar experience with our pooch. If momma passes headed for the house, I get dragged home 😁😁😁

So true - hurts like hell.

My most sincere condolences @dirtydeed

I also remember you saying he was having some issues, and you guys were always together.

So difficult losing your buddy.…

Hang strong….😔

Sorry to hear of your lose. They bring such great joy, but can also cause such great pain. Thankfully, with time we remember the joy and the pain fades.

Thanks all for the well wishes. It was an agonizing day today without him at my side. I keep looking for him everywhere. 😞

I am sorry for your loss. You have my sympathy. I certainly don’t have the words or know the correct thing to say. There is never a good time…for me it’s maybe a little harder around holidays…I’ve been through quite a few over the years and unfortunately I even lost one a day or two before Christmas two years in a row…that just sucks. Do your best. I am sure your buddy was glad to have to you. 🥃

Ugh. I know the feeling. I had to put down a chocolate lab on Christmas morning (emergency). I've hated Christmas ever since, and always will. :(

Rough week for me. I'm really missing my very best fiends. Here's a few shots from another buddy of mine...Remington "Remy" (2000-2012). He was a cutie as well.

He used to carry this pool around in his mouth like a large frisbee.

RIP my friend.
We have an EXACT look-a-like........ now 4 year old named Sadie.
She too thinks at 80 lbs. that SHE is a lap dog.
I am 83 now, and in seemingly good health, but I do hope that I leave this planet before her.
I honestly do not know if would want to continue on without our Sadie!

DirtyDeed, our pets are God's gift to us. How we treat them is our gift to God. We do all we can do for as long as we can and know we gave it our best! Be blessed.

I hope that you both have a happy long life together. It is just as hard on dogs when their owners pass away before them. They feel the same loss as we do.
