ALSO, if you end up having to go to the dealer the engine ECU and related wiring SHOULD be covered under the 5 year emissions warranty.

Edit 2: THE ECU for an ROPS model is under the dash. For a cab model it is under the seat. Hope that helps.

Back around '83 I was in Ecuador and they had Chevy Troopers. We did have Troopers in the US, but they were branded as Isuzu.
